It's so predictable: When Trump knows he will lose, he will shout that the election is rigged.

We all just roll our eyes and get ready for the inauguration.

Is it January 2021 yet?
Are you all working on getting your absentee ballots?

If you live in a state that allows no-excuse absentee ballots, get your hands on one ASAP.

If you don't, see what you can do in your state.
Good! Get your ballot.

When the time comes, figure out how you want to cast it.

Most states will have secure drop off places. Or you can mail them.

I take mine to the registrar's office because I am always working election day.

I'll just take a moment to sing praises for absentee ballots.

Most voter suppression is done at the polls. People have been dropped from the rolls when they try to vote. Or they show up and their polling place was moved or closed.

Absentee voting solves all these problems. . .
. . . and more.

It's all hand-marked, with a paper trail for recounting. Some states that have been doing this for a while trace the ballots so you know when yours was counted.

No confusing machines to deal with.

You can take your time. Check for mistakes. Do your research.
If Democrats are requesting absentee ballots, the Republicans will have to follow suit or the Democrats will have the advantages.

Republicans will have to:
(1) get to the polls
(2) stand lines
(3) risk infection
(4) hope an emergency doesn't prevent a trip to the polls
In California you can drop off your absentee ballot at the polling place on election day if you want to. That way, your ballot is counted along with the same-day voters 👏

Georgia doesn't allow this because they want to make voting hard and undermine public confidence 😡
Yeah, Florida doesn't have the best reputation for this sort of thing. Other states have procedures to allow a chance to cure the problem.

Some states allow the ballot to be taken to the registrar's office, where the clerk checks it before you leave.
Texas is a problem.

I always figured the only solution to Texas was a Democratic U.S. Senate, House, and White House enacting legislation to regulate election. (The Constitution allows that.)

Imagine Texas without gerrymandering and voter suppression.
All those millions of dollars allocated for voting machines can go toward something else.

Poor Ivanka. (I typed that in the sarcasm font)

Thinking about millions of people with absentee ballots in their hands make me happy.
