New weekly all-cause deaths data from @ONS shows that deaths fell more sharply in the week to 1st May, but were still well above normal levels.
Deaths have fallen for both sexes, but the total number of excess deaths is still ~50% higher for men than women.
Relatively speaking, the fall is similar across all age groups, although older ages have much further to come down in absolute terms to get back to 'normal' levels.
If we look at age and sex together, the patterns are similar, but it's striking that the sex imbalance in deaths is greatest in younger, rather than older ages.
Scotland, for whom we'll get new data tomorrow, hasn't fallen as fast, but didn't peak anywhere near as high as England & Wales.
While Northern Ireland seems to have plateaued, albeit at a lower level still.
Here's a comparison of all of the UK's regions.

In general, the further you are from London, the smaller the impact has been.
At this stage, even the least-affected parts of the UK have seen cumulative numbers of deaths that are some way outside of historical ranges. Except perhaps Northern Ireland.
If we look at data on place of death for England & Wales, the biggest fall is in hospital deaths. Deaths in care homes and at home remain extremely high by historic standards.
