This isn't meant to pick on one particular person, but it demonstrates how questionable media coverage is skewing perceptions.

A lot of people (esp in media) started w presumption that Dem Governors were doing things right & R Governors were screwing up. Regardless of results.
Florida has done exceptionally well (thus far), especially given their elderly population. But DeSantis has been skewered in the press. Georgia has also done ~ok, but Kemp has been treated as biggest screwup in the country. Their personal numbers have taken a huge hit.
We can argue over whether the Governors are directly responsible for the outcomes but impossible to compare to the coverage/approvals of Cuomo in NY (where things are a disaster and can be at least partially tied to his decisions), and not conclude much of the coverage was wrong.
And FWIW I do think we will see some spikes as states continue to re-open. That's almost inevitable. But the extent of them really depends on how states re-open more than when they do so at this point.
