If I go a store or a chemist, I spend a few minutes updating them about what precautions they should take to protect themselves and hence their customers and then society as a whole.

Firstly I speak to them about wearing gloves, masks and glasses. Ideally a faceshield.
I speak to them about the need to have some sort of a barrier to ensure the customers keep a safe distance from them. Even a rope will do.

I discuss how the days of handing something to the customer before they purchase it are gone, eg a painting book at the stationary store.
I discuss the need for digital payments to avoid exchange of cash.

I discuss how they need to buy a disinfectant like the one @amitsurg posted yesterday and how they need to spray the counter every other hour or so.

I explain to them how once they go home, they need to
head straight to the bathroom, shower, soak their clothes in soapy water and change and only then come into the common area, no matter how big or small. Hence I advise them not to shut for the afternoon as they have been used to.

I discuss with them to monitor themselves,
their employees and family members for signs and symptoms of COVID. Basically cold, cough, fever, respiratory distress etc, however minor means staying at home and speaking to a doctor.

I discuss with them the need to to anticipate a change in the way the business has been run
so far and how they need to have a plan for it. It might not work but without a plan it will definitely not work.

I speak to them about strongly considering using the delivery system, with options like Dunzo etc, and there by reducing the crowding at the store.
I don't know how many of them are actually listening to me and even if they do, how many will take me seriously and try to follow it.

But this is how society works. Each one does their part. I am fortunate to have access to the internet, social media and medical training and
doctors who can advise me on such matters. They might not. So I have the satisfaction of having tried to help.

I request each and everyone of you to try and do the same.

Carry a mask/pair of gloves and hand sanitizer for those who might not have these things like the local
bhajjiwala. They really need the information and protection.

The world is about to, no it HAS already changed. If we don't change, we will not come out of this easily.

As I have said from day one, everyone's only goal today should be to come out of this pandemic alive!
Then we can worry about other factors. But if we don't come out at the other end of this road alive and kicking, the rest of the stuff does not matter!

Think about it! Act on it!

For you, your family, your friends, your city, state, country and the world!

Hum Honge Kamayab!
PS. Here is an excellent article on what I am saying by one of the world's biggest authorities:
