I admire all the certainty people have that schools should or should not reopen. Sorry that I can't share it because to me it seems like a complex issue, where you can have sympathy for practically everyone involved.
Meanwhile this TfL / government deal seems pretty important to those of us living here. Congestion charge back next week, costs going up for kids and over-60s, the first signs of what may happen after the crisis?

Is this deal with TfL the first sign of what government policy will be towards local authorities short of money after the crisis? Raised fares, fewer exemptions... probably what councils are expecing, not likely to be locally popular.

The UK government's combination of claimed sympathy for the union, general disregard for Northern Ireland in action, and denial in messaging, is a toxic mix, well recognised in Belfast. And very hard to handle.
When do we ever hear the UK government take account of Northern Ireland in e.g. their willingness to take no-deal, or leave all European regulatory agencies? And when it does, e.g. on an EU office in Northern Ireland, it appears to be carelessly as part of UK/EU power games.

Free Trade Agreements nearly always come with some kind of phase in period for implementation in any case, as previously suggested by @SamuelMarcLowe, which could be done within the FTA or by extension of transition period

Are we publishing our draft UK-EU relationship text therefore to 'win the argument'? If so, with who? I fear we may again be mistaking treaty negotiation for being a member of the EU theguardian.com/politics/2020/…
Aha, publishing text so "EU member states and interested observers [who they?] can see our approach in detail".

Just to be clear about how this works the EU Commission will send to Member States the UK text accompanied by detailed explanations of why it is wrong.
