The protests come as the elders and notables of Houran region issued a statement warning the Syrian regime over its escalation in violence against civilians in the area. They condemned murders, assassinations, and kidnapping, regardless of the perpetrators… 3/
And clearly warned against the regime’s deployments outside its barracks with the aim of intimidation, threat, and the creation of hostilities. “We warn all those who threaten to storm the South, pursue the hateful attempts and the notorious sectarian agendas… 4/
and specifically, the Iran-backed militias and those in their orbit, will not find a way to control the South and destabilize its security, stability, and dismemberment of its social fabric by stirring up strife and conflicts. 5/
Such attempts will inflame the Houran volcano and will not only reap shame on all who decide to threaten us. We will strive with all our strength to achieve freedom, justice, equality and peace for our people and for the people of the whole world,” say the elders of Houran. 6/
