... there are many reprehensible actions China takes - Hong Kong, Uighurs - but also some positive actions - management of economy, environmental change. We should learn from China but also push back on some of their actions. Not convinced that this Huawei move makes sense.
However, take the example of Hong Kong then I agree with Patten that "China's security laws a betrayal of Hong Kong people" - theguardian.com/world/2020/may… ... I would argue that the UK should allow anyone from HK to emigrate to the UK.
i.e. it's important for the UK to trade with China, with EU, with US but also to set our limits, our values and to push back as appropriate. Our action looks weak.
