Oliver Curry demonstrated seven universal values across 60 societies. Roughly -

* Family
* Loyalty
* Reciprocity
* Bravery
* Fairness
* Respect for authority
* Respect for property

... these are not exclusive to a specific economic model or geography or culture.
However, it's worth noting that just because values are universal does not mean they are upheld universally.
X : Any thoughts on the evolution of values?
Me : No thoughts but I have a map.
X : So there is a universal set of values we should have?
Me : A subset of values are universal. Values belong to collectives and we belong to many collectives. All values are evolving through competition between collectives and either success of one over others or adoption ...
... so it's a mix of collectives, of the behaviours encouraged (i.e. upholding the values), the values and the success of the collectives which changes the landscape of "values" ... a subset of which are universally accepted.
In short, there is no "universal set of values" nor can there ever be if any form of progress is to exist. There can however be "universal subsets of values" i.e. specific values that are commonly shared and accepted.
X : How do you know that map is right?
Me : It's not right, it's a map. All maps are imperfect. The intention can only ever be to create a better map not to create the "truth". Even geographical maps aren't "truth". Take an atlas, add a million years and it'll be more wrong.
X : What do you mean by pipeline?
Me : Not a single stock of capital but many continuously evolving stocks with a common meaning i.e. "content (for TV)" is not one but many shows under that meaning. Each evolves from commissioned (X Factor) to acquired format (X Factor USA etc)
i.e. under the "meaning" of structure or behaviour or collective or values there are many evolving components with that meaning. It's not a singular thing whereas the meaning of competition is more "singular" than structure.
