#KarunaKumar's #Palasa1978 is made with a lot of conviction. The detailing of Slang & Language used and groundedness aspect of the movie is something that needs to be lauded. Very good Music & good Direction supported by very good performances. Powerful ending. Do watch.

#ChintuKaBirthday is just fine. It has its moments. The trailer looked very promising, but the film did not have much to offer. Few decisions look forced & the "emotional punch" the makers were aiming at did not land for me. Nevertheless, makes for a good family watch.

6/10⭐️ Image
#ArunKarthick's #Nasir breaks your heart so quickly, you'll take a lot of time to recover. Beautifully shot and edited, the film will resonate with you for sure. It only takes a second for things to go out of hands and Arun pulls that off with such perfection. Must watch.

8/10⭐️ Image
#AnasKhan-#AkhilPaul's #Forensic is a clever thriller which lands its twists very well. I just wish the director duo respected the audience a bit more by trimming away the long tedious exposition to an extent. #JakesBejoy's score is the best thing about the movie though.

7/10⭐️ Image
#EashvarKarthic's #Penguin is an utter disappointment. Lethargic screenplay & abominable direction iced with horrendous Telugu dubbing. Santosh Narayan's score is the only positive in this 130-min long "thriller". One question: Why did @karthiksubbaraj produce this? Why?!

2/10⭐️ Image
#AnvitaDutt's #Bulbbul is so aesthetically ambitious that the story fails to match the vision. Predictable from the word go, only the Cinematography is what kept me hooked. The movie has a lot of #Tumbbad vibes to it, but both of them are poles apart. A decent watch.

5/10⭐️ Image
#RavikanthPerepu's #KrishnaAndHisLeela is a good light-hearted rom-com. #SricharanPakala's music is the biggest asset. Really fresh tunes. Has some good prod values with some decent camera work. Interesting writing & good performances make this a fine watch overall.

7/10⭐️ Image
#SufiyumSujatayum is just... meh! It is just stylish making over lack of substance. Zero character development with one-dimensional characters makes it hard to empathize with them. Would have stopped it 30 mins into the movie. But finished it just for @aditiraohydari ❤️

3/10⭐️ Image
#SrikanthNagothi's #BhanumathiRamakrishna is a breezy rom-com. Its a lot of fun too. @harshachemudu made his presence felt. One complaint is that the actors' dubbing is way off. Like a lot. It just pulls me out of the film. Nevertheless, do give it a try. :)

6/10⭐️ Image
#Moothon starts off on a shaky set-up, but #NivinPauly sucks you right into his ruthless world with his screen presence & raw acting. The screenplay all through is tacky which is why the editing too feels that way. #SagarDesai's score is a big plus. The backstory is good.

7/10⭐️ Image
#HansalMehta's #Omerta is immersive. Has some fine camera work. #RajkumarRao fits the bill perfectly. He's just too good. Though the film does not glorify what the protagonist does, it definitely shows us the lack of common rationale in such a learned criminal mastermind.

6/10⭐️ Image
To remake a film is one thing. But, to improvise an already well-made film? Well, #VenkateshMaha has achieved exactly that with #UmaMaheshwaraUgraRoopasya! Truly made his mark felt! @ActorSatyaDev has delivered a stellar performance in this one. Definitely recommended.

9/10⭐️ Image
#Johaar starts off on a pretty solid note. Had it been edited better, the ending would have landed ever harder. Excellent casting, cinematography, and score. I was floored by the ingenuity in a few scenes which are really well-conceived. Don't miss this honest film.

7/10⭐️ Image
#MaheshNarayanan's #CUSoon is a good movie with a "digital" screenplay. Such kind of movies have not been given a moniker yet, but it's good to see Indian Filmmakers giving them a shot. It's always a bliss to watch #FahadFaasil act. You can give it a try.

6/10⭐️ Image
#VTheMovie is... fine, I guess? Not the best of @mokris_1772, and certainly not his worst either. @pgvinda's camerawork is the biggest asset coupled with a racy score by @MusicThaman. The writing at places felt over-ambitious but was not pretentious. Decent thriller.

6.5/10⭐️ Image
#AratiKadav's #Cargo is really ambitious & actually very original too. Sadly, I couldn't relate to the characters due to a lack of clarity of who/what they are, within the films' absurd universe. The honest attempt along with good prod values are appreciable. Well tried.

5/10⭐️ Image
Please watch #TheSocialDilemma on Netflix. Please. Image
#HemantMadhukar's #Nishabdham is a train wreck from word go. Laughable direction, bad editing, poor writing, and pathetic casting with lazy performances. Just skip this one.

By the way, this one star is for Maddy.

1/10⭐️ Image
I rarely watch High School dramas, let alone appreciate them. But I am glad I found this gem. #ThePerksOfBeingAWallflower is a drama filled with soul. Well written, well-directed, and well performed. Do not miss this. Highly recommended! Streaming on @NetflixIndia.

8/10⭐️ Image
The anthology #PuthamPudhuKaalai is just another example that shows how innovative #KarthikSubbaraj and #SudhaKongara are. Their shorts are fresh and very well-cut. But the other 3 shorts are not too engaging and sometimes feel redundant.

5/10⭐️ Image
#AaronSorkin hits it out of the goddam park with his legal drama #TheTrialOfTheChicago7! Top notch editing and direction keeps us engaged all through & this one has a perfect ending for a film I've seen in some time! The premise dealt here is very relevant. A must watch.

10/10⭐️ Image
Debutante @SandeepRaaaj sticks to his narrative all through, whipping out great dialogue, and also makes sure to pack an emotional gut-punch with his #ColourPhoto. Supported by good performances from the whole cast, this is an important film with a very relevant subject.

8/10⭐️ Image
#MissIndia tries so very hard to be "inspiring" that it actually loses its foot completely on being realistic. It's predictable, very poorly written, ridiculously directed, & makes no sense half of the time. It baffles me why Keerthy chose this film at all!? Ignore it.

2/10 Image
#Gatham - a film by Kiran, is a decent indie thriller filmed in the USA. Though the performances were lackluster, the content it offers is good. Could have been a tad shorter with a better Edit. Give it a try on Prime and encourage indie filmmakers.

5/10⭐️ Image
#AakaasamNeeHaddhuRa is the perfect comeback of Suriya, the actor, we have all been waiting for! #SudhaKongara directed the poignant struggle of a common man who dreams big to immaculate emotional highs and lows. Technically very sound, this flight is gonna soar high!🛩️

8.5/10⭐️ Image
#MaaVinthaGaadhaVinuma is probably how not to make a rom-com that talks about serious contemporary issues. Nothing much exciting here. Kittu and Pranav's songs are a silver lining. Tanikella Bharani gaaru as a pakka Hyderabadi cop is a riot though.

4/10⭐️ Image
#MiddleClassMelodies by #VinodAnantoju feels more like a "Pelli Choopulu" set in Guntur backdrop. The movie is stretched but has its moments. #ChaitanyaGarikipati and #VarshaBollamma shine in this one while Anand struggles. Decent dialogues, lyrics, and music. Can try.

5/10⭐️ Image
Rewatched #Enemy after a few years. It was very rewarding. Despite not writing the screenplay, Denis masters the film with such precise Direction coupled with sharp Editing. One of #JakeGyllenhaal's finest films. Definitely check this out, if you haven't already.

10/10⭐️ Image
#Vignarajan's #Andhakaaram is a slow burn thriller that requires very patient viewing. The climax does feel rewarding because of how well intricate the Production was. Good performances and good Music with crazy fast & clean cuts is what this one offers. Give it a try.

8.5/10⭐️ Image
#Tenet is easily the most complex & challenging #ChristopherNolan film yet. Screenplay structure & Edit pattern are so reminiscent of #Inception, however, the feel is so very different. #Ludwig's score is nerve-racking, keeps you on edge. A masterpiece of the future.

9/10⭐️ Image
#Blackkklansman is my first ever #SpikeLee joint and I loved it! The film is very powerful, yet has this style that's fascinating to watch. The way it's shot, the way it's written, and the production values, all add up for a great 130 mins. Definitely check this out.

8/10⭐️ Image
#Vetrimaaran's short in #PaavaKadhaigal stands so far out, the other 3 seem minuscule. He extracts gut-wrenching emotions even in dead silences. That's how good he is. Gautam's short is good too while Sudha & Vignesh fumble a bit. The better anthology of 2020? Maybe.

6/10⭐️ Image
#WonderWoman1984 opens on such a solid note. Sadly that's the only part that is good about this clusterfuck of a movie. Considering part 1 as a setup, this installment feels unnecessary as it really adds nothing to Diana as a character. Hans Zimmer delivered though.

4/10⭐️ Image
Partly shot, written, and directed by #UdayGurrala - #Mail is a decent, fun 2-hour ride on #Aha. Doesn't take itself too seriously and makes sure to deliver the humor, which lands well for the majority of the movie. New faces Harshith, Mani & Gouri shine. Give it a try.

6.5/10⭐️ Image
#KorneilMundruczo's #PiecesOfAWoman is fantastic. It's hard to watch & not recommended for all, but the performances on display here, man, just incredible! The film has a 30-min opener which will probably remain as a crown jewel in #VanessaKirby's acting career.

8.5/10⭐️ Image
#RohenaGera's second feature #SIR is a simple story with a pure soul. It is mostly silent without any score as the lead characters are pretty introverted, but when the film earns its moments, it definitely leaves a smile on your face. A 99 min feel-good cinema. :)

7.5/10⭐️ Image
The Music and Production Design aside #MaRaineysBlackBottom is filled with good acting. #ChadwickBoseman performs his heart out in this serious historical-drama. He is the only reason why I watched the film and I was pleased. What an actor.

7/10⭐️ Image
#RaminBahrani's #TheWhiteTiger is an unevenly paced rags-to-riches drama. The first one-hour has got a solid plot & nice pacing, but that's right about where everything slows down. #AdarshGourav delivers a great performance in this one though. The casting is very good.

7/10⭐️ Image
Lokesh Kanagaraj is very good at writing fast screenplays and with #Master, he lets go of his strength. This is probably why this movie does not work as an OTT release. Some specific choices made in the movie are very interesting though. Anirudh & VJS rampage, as usual.

5/10⭐️ Image
Aneesh Chaganty's 2nd feature #Run is a decent thriller with a cynical-horror-esque style. Sarah Paulson and newcomer Kiera Allen deliver good performances in this 90-minute, kinda convenient drama. The score, cinematography, and editing are really good. Worth a try.

6/10⭐️ Image
#MalcolmAndMarie is a 2-hour exhaustive meltdown from the writer-director #SamLevinson. It's all about a couple conversing about their relationship dynamic with escalating & de-escalating tones. #JohnDavidWashington & #Zendaya are just fantastic. Not for everyone.

5/10⭐️ Image
#SoulMovie is the literal manifestation of the phrase "New found respect for Life". The imagination of artists at Pixar is spellbinding as they tell a story of a man's soul that desperately wants to live. A feel-good movie that appeals to all age groups. Do watch.

6/10⭐️ Image
#JudasAndTheBlackMessiah has got style and substance. My first #ShakaKing film & I think I dig his technique. Slick editing and camera work keeps you hooked for a majority of the run time. #DanielKaluuya & #LakiethStanfield deliver great performances. Recommended watch.

6.5/10⭐️ Image
With #TharunBhascker's short #Ramula as an exception, the rest of #PittaKathalu seemed like unoriginal concepts of stories we have already seen. Nag's short felt like a pre-teaser to what he could do in his Prabhas' project. Anthologies are always a mixed bag.

4/10⭐️ Image
#JeetuJoseph outdoes himself with an equally engaging sequel #Drishyam2. Though the set-up takes its time and might potentially pull you out of the film, things only start to heat up 1 hour into it. As usual, it's only #Lalettan show all the way. Brilliant ending.

7/10⭐️ Image
#RayaAndTheLastDragon is a gorgeous-looking film with a beautiful story. It is clever, super-funny, and very innovative at times. With the score composed by James Newton Howard & #Awkwafina's great voice acting, well supported by others, this one is a fun ride overall.

7/10⭐️ Image
#DileeshPothan's #Joji written for the screen by #SyamPushkaran is a dark family tale that runs around the central character played by #FaFa. Craftily directed & edited with a brilliantly nuanced performance from FaFa. Special mention for Sound Design & Score. Do watch.

8.5/10⭐️ Image
Silly, absurd and not making sense most of the time - yet a laugh riot all through. This is probably how one makes a movie that does not take itself seriously at all. Even the silliest of jokes landed! And @NaveenPolishety, you are a King. ✨

5/10⭐️ Image
To call #TheGreatIndianKitchen a brilliant film will still be an understatement. With exquisite Sound Design & Sound Editing, it is well Directed, Shot and Edited. Do not miss this gem at all.

8/10⭐️ Image
#Karnan is #MariSelvaraj going marana mass with the itihas Mahabharata - retold from a different perspective. It is visually loaded with metaphors, accentuated to the heavens with #SantoshNarayanan's score, supported by great performances and exceptionally well directed.

9/10⭐️ Image
#PraveenKandregula's #CinemaBandi is a lovely, lovely piece of cinema with a pure & pleasant soul. Such films are very rare to come by in TFI. I am glad this film exists and has been backed by @rajndk & @NetflixIndia. Just go watch this gem if you haven't already.

7/10⭐️ Image
#JagameThandhiram is probably #KarthikSubbaraj's weakest padam to date. It was predictable, boring and had some #PeakyBlinders energy to it. It was very bland overall, with not many exciting events happening all through the screenplay. Can't really recommend it either.

4/10⭐️ Image
Finally, #AyyappanumKoshiyum has been watched. What a screenplay! The cat & mouse chase keeps getting better and better every 20 odd minutes, building up to a great and rewarding climax. Stellar performances and a terrific score.

Hyped for the PK-Rana movie! :)

8/10⭐️ Image
#PaRanjith's #SarpattaParambarai is quite an entertaining sports drama that fumbles in the third act. Arya is obviously good but Pasupathy delivers a fantastic performance. The Score, worldbuilding, and production values are top-notch. The 20-minute opener is a BOMB!

6.5/10⭐️ Image
#AQuietPlace2 is a really worthy sequel. The way John Krasinski moves his camera and parallelly cuts between sequences is just amazing. The opener is pure cinematic brilliance. Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe show some great mettle. Do watch.

7/10⭐️ Image
#SianHeder's #CODA is a lovely, heartwarming tale of a teenager with a family of deaf adults who wants to pursue a career in singing. The family drama comes to life with excellent performances from the cast, especially from #EmiliaJones. Definitely check this out.

7/10⭐️ Image
#ShangChi follows the traditional Marvel template to set up the characters, but the only thing that this one does better is the Action Choreography. The people behind it & the actors have done a commendable job. #TonyLeung: What a man! Do watch it in a proper Cinema.

6/10⭐️ Image
#JamesWan's #Malignant is mental mass! Though there are shades of #DoctorSleep here and there, the final act goes complete bonkers. Wan possesses great style which very few contemporary horror directors can tackle. Worth a solo viewing.

6/10⭐️ Image
#DenisVilleneuve's #Dune is a gorgeous spectacle that needed better writing. Production and Sound Design, Cinematography & Score are all fantastic, really. But a great story is what drives home a good film. Two-part films are hard to judge, but this one was underwhelming.

6/10⭐️ Image
.@AshwinGangaraju takes his sweet time to set up #Aakashavaani but once things start going, the plot gets very interesting. Some genuinely good moments in this honest debut from Ashwin. Good Score, Production Design and Cinematography. Don't miss this one.

6/10⭐️ Image
I'm late to the party but I'm glad I finally watched #NinnilaNinnila. Ani Sasi's debut is very well directed, superbly acted and gorgeously shot by Divakar Mani. Rajesh Murugesan's score adds so much to this lite hearted dramedy. Makes for a great comfort watch.

7.5/10⭐️ Image
.@hasithgoli's #RajaRajaChora is really well written and well-acted, with #SreeVishnu carrying it forward with ease. #VivekSagar goes all guns blazing! What a score! Despite the screenplay issues I had, It's a hilarious ride overall. Appreciate the ambiguous ending.

7/10⭐️ Image
Kammula sir still remains the only director of our times to constantly tell very important stories and touch upon topics that other filmmakers wouldn't even dare to go near. #LoveStory is really good, despite all its flaws. And that #SarangaDariya song! *Chef's Kiss*

6/10⭐️ Image
Without being dismissive about the real stories it tried to portray, I felt #JaiBhim was only a crowd-pleasing version of a film that constantly tried to mimic Vetrimaaran's #Visaranai. One or two brilliant moments aside, I had nothing worthwhile in this one.

4.5/10⭐️ Image
Nelson's #VarunDoctor is fun. Worked for me for the majority of its runtime. Yogi Babu & Kingsley slay it with comedy (Telugu dialogues penned by Rajesh Murthy). That train scene was hilarious! The steam wears off in the 2nd half, but it's a decent package overall.

6/10⭐️ Image
#MostEligibleBachelor's wafer-thin plot can be resolved if the leads sit down and talk for a few minutes. That's all. There's no conflict at all, conflict is "imagined" to be present. Had the potential to be a great film. Bhasker wasted a really good opportunity.

3/10⭐️ Image
#LijoJosePellissery's #Churuli is a psychedelic thriller with a very unusual ending. It has some insanely original moments with fantastically mixed Sound Design. Lijo continues his run of doing something different with each film. Not recommended for everyone.

8/10⭐️ Image
#VishavakKhanderao's #Skylab suffers with an unfortunately flat narration that failed to deliver a story with novel human emotions. Take off was fantastic, but post 30-minute, I was never engaged with the film as much as I wish to be. Incredible BGM & Visuals though.

5/10⭐ Image
#SpiderManNoWayHome has surpassed my sky high expectations with ease. A lot of fan service, yes. But at the same time Jon Watts does take some decisions which are hard to come by in an MCU film. Extremely entertaining & emotional. Satisfied. :)

8/10⭐ Image
Sukku holds your attention for over 2 & half hours with incredible drama between multiple characters, topped by a menacing #AlluArjun as #Pushpa. Superb contribution from additional cast makes this a compelling watch even as a standalone. 2nd part should be interesting.

7/10⭐️ Image
#LanaWachowski subverts all expectations and delivers a consistently entertaining film in #TheMatrixResurrections. This is a superb reinvention. Was a kid when the OG Trilogy was in theatres. But watching this one on the white canvas felt enthralling. Don't miss it.

8/10⭐ Image
The hype is real. #GarudaGamanaVrishabaVahana is indeed a damn good film. A slow-burn crime drama where @RajbShettyOMK elevates the earned moments to a goosebump-inducing level. Excellently shot and edited by #PraveenShriyan. @m3dhun's score is a trance.

8.5/10⭐️ Image
#Mahaan is an incredible slow-burner that runs on steroids in the last half hour. #ChiyaanVikram is fantastic here, with #Simha giving equally good performance. The father-son drama works really well, gelled with a great support cast. Really good technicalities as well.

7/10⭐️ Image
Except for writing, the rest of the departments of #GangubaiKathiawadi fire in all engines. Act 3 is redeeming to an extent. If not for #AliaBhatt's brilliant portrayal, I wouldn't sit through this 150+ minute movie. Bhansali's weakest to date.

5/10⭐️ Image
#MattReeves' has truly given a noir makeover to a deserving CB superhero and made a rivetting, super tight crime drama with #TheBatman. #RobertPattinson delivers big time as the lead. The Camerawork, Score, Sound Design & Editing are all top tier. Fantastic film!

9.5/10⭐️ Image
Except for like 2 scenes, nothing really sticks in this shabby-VFX-extravaganza of a colossal waste of 400cr (apparently) rupees of nothingness. Probably the least engaging Prabhas film after Rebel. Good Production Design & Cinematography alone don't make a good film.

3/10⭐️ Image
#KGF2 is a lot cleaner in terms of edit, more heart-thumping in terms of score & overall a technically better product than its predecessor. Worked in parts for me. The biggest takeaway for me is some sort of confidence in #Salaar.

#PrashanthNeel... please deliver.

6.5/10⭐️ Image
Seldom does a film come by where the camera, in extension the colours, is speaking more than the actual characters in it. #KadaisiVivasayi is one such rare gem. Manikandan seems to have a knack for simplistic direction, yet extracting powerful emotions. Don't miss this.

9/10⭐️ Image
Adam Sandler gives an Al Pacino performance in #UncutGems - A 130-minute thriller which will give you the experience of 'anxiety' for a major part of its runtime. Safdie Brothers & their technical team have achieved incredible levels of fast-paced filmmaking. Crazy stuff!

8/10⭐️ Image
Out and out incredibly written, edited, shot, acted & scored piece of cinema. So much is said through conversations and also at times, so much just through visual silences. #VivekAthreya is operating on an entirely different level of filmmaking. Loved #AnteSundaraniki!

9.5/10⭐️ Image
Indraganti is back to his groove of a romantic drama with #AaAmmayiGurinchiMeekuCheppali which drives home a very sensible point, crafted sensitively. #KrithiShetty came as a surprise. #VivekSagar, as usual, elevates the scenes with ease. Recommended.

6.5/10⭐️ Image
#RishabShetty's #Kantara doesn't give two hoots about exposition. It's layered, metaphorical, political and open-ended while the treatment is nothing short of the Indian "masala" style. A gem. One of the best films to come out this year. Masterfully crafted.

8/10⭐️ Image
#NagrajManjule's #Jhund is the best Hindi film I've seen in 2022. He does not leave a stone unturned and hits the Bull's Eye at every turn of the narrative. Political and social commentary on point. Brilliant!
