DS 1 and DS 4 we sold to Mount Lyell Railway & Mining Company. Withdrawn 1953. Remainder withdrawn by c. 1956.

On retirement, the boilers of DS 7 and DS 8 were used as stationary boilers. The boiler of DS 8 was obtained for preservation and placed on display at the Don River Railway.

WF 393 looks similar to the Tasmanian DS locos apart from the NZR "Chopper" couplings.
