The streamlining no doubt inspired by VR S class locos for the Spirit of Progress.
The streamlining was removed in the late 1940s.
All the R locos were withdrawn in 1956-1957.
Unfortunately, all were scrapped.

No detail available for this. Looks like R1. Perhaps a backup for R3 and R4 if not available? Trial for the streamlining??
Very impressive for 3' 6" gauge to say the least!
