4/ There's much wrong with American society wrt race & that's manifested in police brutality, crime & judicial injustice, repercussions of lack of medicare, IMHO it is ultimately compounded over time due to a lack of Black Ownership of Businesses. Per @mcuban - equity compounds: 
5/ Equity means fairness but also Ownership. This is the root of bridging the gap.
Pre-civil war, whites owned black people FFS! But post-Emancipation, Black Americans were never given a fair shake... and for generations, ownership has eluded blacks, compounding the gap.
