It's like a series of gentle lobs by @BorisJohnson, being smashed back by @Keir_Starmer. This is brutal. #PMQs
Assorted Tory stooges, including pro ones like @Tim_R_Dawson, accusing me of "editing Johnson's response out". I did nothing of the kind. Starmer moved on to his next question after the above clip. Johnson returned to it later. Twitter has a 2m20' limit.

In any case, turns out (and No.10 confirm) the only phone calls the PM could be referring to are either (a) a private call that PREDATES the letter or (b) a call after the letter with ALL party leaders in which the letter wasn't discussed. Johnson caught lying again. So tedious.

The normalisation of suffering is astounding, in its speed and scope. Here's @grantshapps talking about "a long tail" - that is of a long tail of dead people - and celebrating a daily total of 176 deaths. Greece has had 180 fatalities through the entire pandemic so far. #r4today
By the way, feel free to adjust the UK's estimated 50,000-60,000 dead for population size, density, for geography, and for any spurious factor you want. And let me know if you get anywhere near economically ravaged Greece's 180 total, without "the UK gov't completely f***ed up".
Isn't Grant MARVELLOUS. Isn't this government BRILLIANT. Look at the stats yesterday. Only a handful more dead than the Piper Alpha explosion or the Aberfan landslide. Only about three-and-a-half times the dead of the 7/7 bombings. They're doing SO WELL.

Migrants’ lives are no more linear than yours. Most start in low paid jobs, but acquire education, skill, experience and go on to other things. Waiters become nurses and nurses become entrepreneurs. Weird to demand of us a lifelong commitment to whatever profession/income level.
What you basically want is for me to be educated by someone else’s taxes, trained on someone else’s buck, get experience abroad, THEN come here to pay for your retirement, and bugger off if, for whatever reason, I stop earning the money you demand. That’s not how ANYTHING works.
The only rational explanation for such idiocy is a profound belief the UK is such a paradise flowing with milk and honey that all will just clamour to get in, with no rights and under constant threat of deportation. I love my home dearly, but let me tell you, you ain’t all that.

Tories and their press concubines OUTRAGED at a blink-and-you’d-miss-it breach of rules to protest PoC being murdered by racist cops, days after insisting a 520-mile trip to one’s country estate *while symptomatic*, followed by a 60-mile eye-test is not only fine, but DECENT.
Simultaneously, how can a former senior Labour front bencher be SO USELESS as to manage to somehow throw Tories a bone, just at the point they’re struggling, even from exile?
