Recently fired Inspector General spoke to Congress today.

“Mr. Linick’s explanation of this matter DIRECTLY CONTRADICTS several statements that [Pompeo’s Under Secretary of State] Bulatao made in a June 1, 2020 letter” to Congress.

2. “Linick confirmed that, at the time of his firing, there was an ongoing investigation into allegations of misuse of government resources by Secretary Pompeo and his wife.”

Linick said his office made sure State Department leadership “would not be surprised” by probe.

Yet ...
3. Yet ... Pompeo denied (in Washington Post interview) that he knew Linick was investigating Pompeo and his wife when Pompeo recommended the President fire the Inspector General.

Let’s have Pompeo put that in writing to Congress.
