Been thinking of a word to describe the struggles of the black community.

#BLMphobia is what i’m thinking and i’m open to other ideas..

#BLMPhobia can be defined as the fear, hatred of, or prejudice against the Black community.

There are similarities between islamophobia and BLMPhobia..

There is a group who use the below excuse

“we have biryani and have a lot of Muslim friends.. we also wish them on Eid”

However there is no shortage of hatred or racist remarks against the muslims. #Islamophobia

Similarly, there is a group who use the below excuse

“we go the church where there are lot of blacks”
“All lives matters and abortions are not right”

However, there is no shortage of their bigotry and many label the people as looters and use sarcasm and indirectly target.

The #BLMphobia is quite evident today.. many don’t say it openly but there is this hatred within and due to their actions and decisions, they make sure the people from the black community don’t get the attention or allowed a space. It is this close minded attitude that’s bad.

People who are brown and others are using this as their golden moment. Instead of talking about the change that’s needed, a few are using this to bring their experiences.. no denial that was wrong but it’s not the time.. the black lives matter is all that we need to talk about.

My request to people who are not part of the black community. Take a step back.. you and I are privileged and we can use another time/ space to speak about our struggles.. right now, we need to listen to what the people from the black community are trying to say..

Take a knee.. step out of comfort zone.. reach out to the people. Make them feel they belong here.. these are the small things we could do.. please don’t make it about us or “ all lives matter”

We all can say no to #BLMphobia if we make an effort..
