I want to write today about a very masculine term that has led to many a sexual harassment of women:

"GREEN LIGHT"

Not many men know that "green light" is not permit for sex and I'll break it down as best as I can

THREAD!

1. If you are driving down a long road that has various traffic lights at the junctions, the green light at the first junction doesn't not mean you can go all the way to the end! At every junction you respect what the light says & you must comply.

Approaching women is the same!

2. Example:
Sitting in a bar & a lady winks at you, yes that's GREEN LIGHT, but it is ONLY permit to approach. It is NOT green light to toast, nor stalk & certainly not green light for sex. If the conversation goes well, that's the first junction. Wait for the next green light

3. If she gives you her number, yes that's green light, but it is only green light to call...not to send nor request nudes, not to stalk and certainly not to have sex.

If you call and she picks up, yes that's green light, but it os only green light to have a conversation.

4. If she agrees ro go to a movie, yes, that's green light but it is green light to watch the movie with you and not the grope her or gram her or have sex with her.

If during the move she holds your hand, yes that's green light but it is only green light to hold her hand back

5. At any point of giving you green light, she can change and give a red light and that red light must be obeyed. That she gave you all these green lights DOES NOT permit you to have sex with her. It is not indicative of her desire at all

6. coming to your house is green light but it is only GREEN LIGHT that she trusts you and finds your company interesting enough to spend tine with you. NO IT IS NOT GREEN LIGHT to have sex.

coming to your house to visit DOES NOT mean she wants it

7. If she flirts with you, that's also green light for you to flirt back. Flirting is NOT a permit to sex.

I hope the picture is clearer. As a man, for respect of the woman and for your safety, the only green light that means she wants sex is when she says she wants sex

8. I will leave the women to teach women what to do and I implore men to teach boys & men how to behave around women.

Dear guys, if you want to have sex, do not force, coerce, threaten nor make false representations as all of these are criminal acts & you will end up in prison.

9. At any of these junctions she can say no and you must comply. And for your own eace of mind, remove the entitlement mentality that she was leading you on or seducing you or teasing you...even if she was, none of those means she wants sex.

10. Lets begin to consciously teach boys to be men because like I keep saying, men are not born, men are raised. from boys. If we fail at raising boys we will have dysfunctional men and yes, many of us men today are terribly dysfunctional & we must work hard to fix ourselves

11. When a friend tells you "she gave green light" please to be responsible & hold each other accountable for the safety of our sisters, ask "green light how & green light for what?"

Let's not hi-five him that he has scored based on a green light as that encourages rape

12. Last, when in doubt of any kind, DO NOT PROCEED before asking for clarity. I assure you, it is better, cheaper and safer to be called "lame" or "slacker" than "rapist". And if being a gentle man gets you labelled as a slacker, then that's not the woman you should be with
