THREAD - This week @piersmorgan has been very vocal about righting the wrongs of Britain’s colonial past.

Ergo isn’t it only fair he also apologises for his ancestors’ involvement? Shouldn’t he take a knee on @GMB tomorrow & ask for forgiveness? Have a look and decide ⬇️ /1
Here are a few of Piers’ ancestors on his maternal grandmother’s side (note Piers was born O’Meara). We’ll concentrate on the red boxes. /2
Piers’ GGGFather Bernard worked for the East India Company in Bengal & Burma. The EIC was one of the main organs of British empire building & notorious for its role in the slave trade ⬇️ /3
Bernard’s son George was also a colonialist operating as a merchant in the Burma rice trade for The Arracan Rice Co.
He looks very well-off don’t you think? He also kept servants at home ⬇️ /4
George wasn’t the only one of Piers’ family to keep servants. His GGGMother Mariquita kept them as did her father Richard. ⬇️ /5
Last but not least this jolly fellow is Edward Keily, Piers’ other GGGFather. He worked for the Great Indian Peninsula Railway for over 40 yrs. Unfortunately he also worked hand-in-hand with the East India Company. Here are a few of the staff on their way to work ⬇️ /6
What do you think? Shouldn’t @piersmorgan practice what he preaches & issue a full & unequivocal apology on @GMB tomorrow?

Please vote & RT (especially to Piers himself)
