I have been trying to formulate the words for how I see this. The idiots we have seen rioting in London today supported brexit because they saw it was a way to kick back against a country and younger generations who increasingly saw them as irrelevant and powerless. /Thread
Reacting to a society which in terms of moral values was becoming more liberal ( not the party, the state of mind). They couldn’t tell their casual racist jokes without someone telling them it was wrong. They needed to blame someone for losing their grip on their own lives.
Charlatans and far right politicians told them their power was ebbing away because of political correctness gone mad, foreigners and Muslims. So they seized on brexit to show those pesky foreigners and liberals what for.
Yet they are still angry.

#BlackLivesMatter has got attention. People are questioning the racism built into the system. These same far right people are angry again because they see this and thought they had dealt with this liberal multi ethnic ‘nonsense’.
The young came out in big numbers last week - strong, righteous, magnificent, demanding a level playing field. These white men today saw the world pay attention, their political masters felt their own power ebbing away too and stirred the pot of hate and anger up amongst them.
That’s where we are!
You can’t appease racists, no matter how much you give into them they will continue to hate those who are different because they will always need someone to blame. They define their own power by taking it from others.

The more you give into them and use false equivalence to allow them to pretend to be victims and make out somehow they suffer from discrimination in the system in the same way as others, the more power they will steal for themselves.
Sooner or later their political masters won’t be able to control them without themselves moving further and further to a more extreme position. We are a long way down that horrible road already.
My biggest hope comes from the amazing footage across the world of the younger generations of every creed and colour these last weeks who willing to stand up and be heard in huge numbers. They make these numpties today look as they are. Small in every way. #StopFascism /end
