After incident of suicides, why do we try to elaborate on the cause mostly? starting with character assassination to “debauched” lifestyle, to “absence of discipline” and finally “too much exposure to outer world”...In 3 weeks, this is 3rd suicidal case/ attempt am hearing of.
An acquaintance- whom all used to envy for his clean handstands and love for his “all smiles no frown” nature - died in/of depression. Another acquaintance, a happy go lucky man, attempted but was saved by friends, and 3rd is a celebrity
They r different individuals, come from different strata of society, and of course have different reasons. But, there is a common thread.all were judged. When the news break, we all discuss depression, say that we r just a call away, if one needs. Really ?
If thats so, many of us would not have spent money for just being heard. So we take professional help, in finer term -therapy.Of course we dont want to be “vent buddy”. And we trust strangers more with pain not people whom we know.
Many of us dont know how it feels when therapist rings the bell or look at watch to say “friend ur one hour is over, come next week”. Pathetic, right? But we will not change. We will write long threads like am doing now only after we hear of a celebrity suicide.
Tomorrow is of course a new day. We will get back to business.
