The rate of asymptomatic infections was 21% (of 178 patients) but the authors suggest it could be higher since these were high-risk people; they call for a random sample population screen 👍
The largest #COVID19 group below the surface, undetected, are the asymptomatics. Now 4 series with CT scans showing lung hits in the majority consistent w/ @COVID19 impact. Reviewed in this thread

A look across some key US states, June 19th
1. It's key to use the same Y-axis. Here are new cases graphs. The only ones with a big N and at pandemic peak are Texas, Florida and Arizona. You can see others being declared as in trouble, but at a far different level of N Image
2. For hospitalizations, many states don't provide their daily data. For the ones above there is no trend of increase to go along with the jump in cases since late in May. Image
3. But there is a trend of increase in deaths (all on same Y-axis) in several of these states, particularly in Texas and Arizona. Image

the death curves are flat thus far. That may change in a couple of weeks.

How did Japan, with much older demographics than the US, and higher density of people, have 7 deaths per million compared to >300 deaths per million for the US?
And only 133 cases/million vs 5385/million?

#ClusterBusting is a big factor. Anticipating the 80/20 Pareto principle.
Japan's "Patient Cluster Countermeasure Group" diligently traced all 61 cluster and superspreader events wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26…
