Based on the article below (by @praveenswami) on Indian patrol routes along the LAC in Depsang I created some maps for the same.
Thread.
This is the general map of the important locations mentioned by @praveenswami in his article on Chinese incursions into Depsang Plains
Burtse Op is a small outpost on the DSDBO road connecting to the vital DBO & Karakorram Pass.
Lat Long 35.107040,78.050329
Bottle Neck Area is approximately 7km NE of Burtse OP
This is where the 2 patrol paths towards Point 10 to the north & Point 13 to the south split up.
Approximate Lat Long (from the article in the map) 35° 8'55.70"N 78° 6'56.94"E
As per reports PLA has blocked IA from going any further from this point & has built up its presence above Bottleneck
Indian soldiers complete a 48 hour patrol from Bottleneck to Point 10, 11, 11A, 12, 13 & back to Bottleneck over brutal terrain as per the article.
Now the article doesn't provide exact details as to where the se points 10 to 13 exactly lie. Based on the map that @praveenswami has provided & what I can observe as possible routes through this difficult terrain I have estimated the route in pictures in the following tweets.
The route to Point 10 heads north from Bottle Neck after which it turns SW & then S towards Point 13.
The route towards Point 13 zig zags between S & SE directions in general before ending at Point 13.
Interestingly it seems that in certain areas like this one we patrol not fully to the our claimed LAC but little short of it (which I am guessing must be due to challenging terrain).
sorry I can't find reference to that article right now
The route towards Point 10 from Bottleneck is Raki Nalla where the 2013 Depsang crisis occurred when Chinese troops made incursion into Indian territory.
Note: The red line is what Google Earth shows me to be their "assumed LAC" out here from where I access Google Earth.
