The United States and #COVID19, June 25th overview
The top 5 states, new confirmed cases by million population, have changed (w/ slope Δ factored in)
1. Arizona
2. South Carolina
3. Florida
4. Texas
5. California
Without the population adjustment, California takes the lead position and Georgia appears
Other states on the worry watch list are notably all southern by case growth per million: Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina
Louisiana, one of the 3 hardest-hit states from the beginning of the US pandemic, has a very distinct pattern compared with New York, New Jersey, and the other northeast states
These are the double-digit % positive test group which has nearly doubled in number since yesterday, indicative of even more spread across the country. Hard to believe Arizona could go higher but it did. Utah, geographically, an outlier on the list.
The new cases graph for the top 4 states with constant Y-axis, all at close to pandemic peak outbreak.info
The death data for these states is concerning
Today's update: nytimes.com/interactive/20…
trending up in AZ, FL, TX; especially AZ
Hospital, ICU data are hard to come by because we have no national requirement or coordinated reporting
This😷analysis was looking good until California's jolt of new cases kicked in
