Today I have finished my (free) #python for beginners course by @moshhamedani as a part of my #100daysofcode challenge.
My journey into 🐍 (so far) in numbers: 6 hr course, completed in 22 days, 144 pages of notes. Thread of thoughts as a tech #seo vs 🐍
1st of all I’d like to express my deepest gratitude for the masters of all #python things @hamletbatista @datachaz for rooting me on all the way, it’s an honour.
2nd I’d like to thank those who followed me along my python journey so far and dropping a kind word to keep me going @suganthanm @izzionfire @darth_na @ljkbennett to name a few, but most of all my family, who were beyond patient & supportive
Before I started with the #100DaysOfCode challenge & saw others do it, I thought “how does this interest me as a follower?” But then I realised, & even more getting into it, that this challenge is not for my followers, it’s for me. If I have to post something, I’ll keep going
If you’re an #seo considering exploring #python, but unsure if it’s the right thing for you, I recommend to try a free yet full course like the one I did - no risk of money loss or commitment, but it is crucial to align your expectations accordingly
The course offers “everything you need to get started with python” meaning that it's here to give you a good intro foundation, but you won’t become a #python dev after a 6hr free course. However, if you’re hesitant about code this course will surely help
The course covers the core concepts of #python (critical) + 3 projects: ecom shop w/django, python in ML (spotify type engine) & using python to automate repetitive tasks. These are so meaningful to have in the arsenal of an #seo, but expect only good samples for free😊
To take your knowledge to the next level he offers a comp 🐍 course, currently priced at $10 instead of $149, & tbh, just for being so welcoming & helping me transition into coding, I wanted to simply donate the money, but won't say no to a full course🤩

My experience: at 1st it was all so easy I was ecstatic! But then it quickly became quite complex, so instead of beating myself up, I switched to making sure that I understood the logic behind his actions & remembering that code + taking notes so I can understand it in real life.
I didn’t give up despite making errors along the way, I learned to become a decent #python debugger lol, so I picked myself up, dusted myself off, found my mistakes, fixed them, kept calm and carried on. This became particularly tough at the final stretch with a critical error.
I didn’t manage to fix that error in the end, so the dusting off took longer, especially because I was really looking fwd to building my little ecom pyshop, & I couldn’t. It’s not because of me & it’s not just me, but from that point I couldn’t do anything without breaking django
That was the point I thought it was over, but isn’t it a shame when you’re almost at the finish line? So just like in my fav childhood movie,I picked up my bobsled aka django, & kept going, just learning and admiring my teacher’s pretty store, but I kept learning & didn’t give up
To sum up: I got a good understanding of the kinds of things I could do with #python, especially automation of xls & #ML, and (after a rest) I’m going to research the work of SEOs in python to see if I better understand now. If not (and regardless) I’ll continue to the big course
This is only the start of my journey with #python, & 2 hrs a day well spent instead of my daily commute. This all started for me to be able to get a G trends report on Google Data Studio with no dev with time to help. I just hope I’m closer now & that this helped someone somehow
