New viral load data #COVID19. Paper presents 4326 viral load values for patients by age (kids 10-19 equal viral loads as adults), sex, etc. from Switzerland plus viral loads for many other viruses.

Data from 0-9 very limited, but more robust data from 10-19 show no difference with other ages.
This is consistent with data from Germany study suggesting equal viral loads for children (Right fig):

No difference among men and women; huge sample size, so pretty robust unless sampling of sexes is biased in some way.

Viral loads for other viruses from past 5 yrs of sampling. Cool comparative dataset! Note lack of diff b/w SARS-COV-2 & common cold coronaviruses on right. Viral load != disease severity b/w these viruses (& within individs for SARS-COV-2).
Final interesting observation: Fraction of people testing + by age. Much lower for children despite no diff in viral loads. Likely due to children being more likely to have other illnesses and less symptomatic for COVID19. Will make symptomatic screening in schools difficult!
