1. Trump may know that the Senate Intel committee's final report and the IC counterintelligence investigation are going to drop something on him soon so #Portland is a diversion & meant to create a sense of fear to set a stage for a Trump administration under siege.
2. It's almost 100% certain materials that Cy Vance is working on in NYC connect Trump to the Kremlin via the NY Russian mob. Trump's ODNI plant would be able to inform the White House about the material that is under review for de-classification. Trump appears terrified.
3. We have heard little of John Durham's activities. I do not share the view that he's going to begin an extra-judicial round up of Trump's political foes. His lifetime record of public service as a career prosecutor does not support a view he is acting as another Trump henchman.
4. The Fox News propagandists have not spoken much about Durham in recent days. On July 9 Trump sycophant Lou Dobbs opined that any action coming from Durham may happen after the election. In that segment alleged DOJ insider John Solomon used the term "split the baby"
5. when referencing the outcome of the Durham investigation that no longer seems to be red meat to the Trump base. I take that comment to infer that he may have some belief that Durham is looking at people connected to Trump as well as some possible action related to the FBI's
6. Crossfire Hurricane sloppiness that was identified by the IG. I doubt Solomon's got any real insight into Durham's work but the use of the term "split the baby" on July 9 may mean that at least some Trump affiliates are under scrutiny.
7. If Barr actually gave Durham access to highly confidential NSA and CIA electronic intercepts it is much more likely to harm Trump than anyone else. And the blanket Barr de-classification EO that Trump signed may have opened a door to expose Trump's Russian connections.
8. If that's what Trump fears may be coming, #Portland would be one way he and Barr might react. Barr needs to give Trump his shiny object to keep him from going off the deep end. Cruelty of Trump's little green men in Portland could keep Trump from questioning Barr who may
9. have set the stage for Trump to be charged with conspiracy or even treason. I think it's critical to remember that the DOJ 90 day rule kicks in on August 5th. Between now and then I expect to see many things that are simply cover for what is really going on.
