There are four ways to spot potential in a person, even when they are going through a bad patch. #Thread 
1. They have a documented history of past achievement. They've demonstrated leadership or success before, either in school, church, family etc. So, the current failure is a circumstance not a perpetual state of being. They will get through it.
2. They never return to their vomit. They learn from mistakes and rarely repeat the same one twice.
3. They are achievement oriented. They measure things by output, not by input and process.
4. They are not blamers or excuse prone. They take responsibility and any time information is presented to them, their first reaction is not, "But..."
If these four things are missing, then be very suspicious of that person's "potential".
