The first batch of Snap Minis launched today. This is an early step in Snap's app ecosystem that will help almost every company that uses the internet to acquire and retain customers.

If you're unfamiliar, Snapchat is used by over 88 million people in North America per day. The total time spent in the app by all Snapchat users in the US is nearly identical to Instagram.

The app opens directly to a screen offering six swipe able meditation exercise ImageImage
While listening (or afterwards), users can share with friends via the camera or in a message ImageImageImage
The bottom 75% of the home screen is shareable stickers. Tapping on a sticker takes the users directly into the camera where they can also share with friends. ImageImageImageImage
The Headspace Mini is very light and and shows how simple some of these will be.

It falls short on lots of easy growth loops (no CTA's, doesn't appear you can swipe up from a Story into the Mini) that would re-engage users or drive sustained business value for Headspace.
Over the long-term, building on Snapchat's social graph of 229m high LTV users is going to help almost every company acquire free customers:

- User swipes into a mini from friends' story
- Receives value
- Nudged to share, download main app, etc

All of this is free right now
We will likely start seeing many products and businesses built on:

- Snap Minis
- the shareable growth loops mentioned earlier
- heavy integration with Snap features used by YOLO + Hoop (more below 👇) like Bitmoji, the Snap Map, and its AR and ad tools
