3) There are 170 commercial FABS in the world, but.. not a single globally reputed FAB in India!
ISRO & DRDO have their own FABs, but they are for Space and Defence tech only. Indians have designed nice microchips like Shakti and Ajit. But India lacks the FAB or foundry for them
