OK folks, we introduced you to the beast, Operation Save America, now it’s time to go deep on the affiliates, whose websites have the most deranged, upsetting “about us” pages we’ve ever seen. First up, Abolish Human Abortion! #OSAUnmasked#AbortionIsEssential
Meet T. Russell Hunter, the co-founder of Abolish Human Abortion. When he’s not drawing pictures of demons giving abortions, he’s arguing that rape exceptions for abortions are THE WORST! #OSAUnmasked
You might ask “why the eff are they using the word “abolish”? They say “every age has its evils, every age has its abolitionists.” We know this is putting a bow on it, but they think abortion is just like slavery. They are delusional. #OSAUnmasked
Being “pro-life” is NOT hardcore enough for them. They want abortion ERADICATED, absolutely no exceptions. Here’s how their “ideology” page starts. #OSAUnmasked.
Again, sorry for all the scary quotes but here’s one more: “Abolitionists are Christians applying their faith to culture enslaved to sex and in love with death.” #OSAUnmasked
Side note: we just want to point out the dissonance of reading PAGES and PAGES of the most humorless, punitive interpretations of the Bible, and then you scroll down and see a page for “abolitionist memes.” Very serious memes, we're sure. #OSAunmasked
These people think the true law is the law of God, that abortion is against that law, and because of that it is their duty to ACT against abortion. Later we’ll talk about how they lobby politicians! Don’t hate the player, hate the game we guess! #OSAUnmasked

For #My40Days, let’s talk about MINDFULNESS about how we discuss abortion with friends, people who've had abortions, your aunt Linda, your dentist, and so on. Let’s start with a big one: why we’ve (mostly) stopped saying “pro-choice.”
We are ALL about letting people have agency over their decisions. So yes, naturally, “pro-choice” works well for that. #My40Days
But we also have to think about who “pro-choice” leaves out. The healthcare system and the WORLD are effed up and create all kinds of barriers for people who want to be parents. So for some people maybe it’s not a “choice” to have an abortion so much as a necessity. #My40Days
#RBG taught us to stand up to sexist ghouls. Now that she's gone, misogynists are twirling their gross mustaches, gearing up to replace her legacy with an anti-abortion extremist!
Said anti-abortion ghouls have started their crusade with a nationwide clinic troll-a-thon called "40 Days for Life." #My40Days
In this annual event, hordes of uninvited Catholic hatesplainers "stand guard" outside of abortion clinics for 40 days and 40 nights. Really, it's just stalking. #My40Days
Badass of the day: Shirley Chisholm! Today is the 49th anniversary of Chisholm entering the Democratic primary, making her the first Black woman to run for president of these United States.
When she ran for Congress, her slogan was “Unbought and unbossed.” She also spoke truth to power when she said, “If you don’t have a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”
When she was elected to Congress — also the first Black woman to do that — they tried to hide her on the ag committee, which took her away from working for the people who actually elected her. Still she rose.
Although she was obstructed by the head of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (fuck you forever, Scott Lloyd and your creepy period tracking), she did eventually receive her abortion with the help of the @ACLU, activists, and @JanesDueProcess.
So today we thought we’d tweet out her statement from the time as a reminder of why we fight so hard for everyone to get the abortion care they need:
