Maybe this will make some people cross. It seems amazing that the British public were completely besides themselves about office expenses MPs were claiming only a few years ago! 1/6 thread
I mean people got really really angry about duck ponds and a porn movie, second homes and hefty office supplies bills. Though in the end it only amounted to a few MPs paying back some over claims and a couple of prosecutions as I recall. 2/6
But nowadays the great British public can barely care less about MPs being on the payroll of dodgy Russian oligarchs! 3/6

Or about the massive number of people dead thanks to poor decision making by Johnson and his cronies over covid.

P.s. it’s almost as if that expenses scandal desensitised the public - proved that MPs were all liars and corrupt and that was that so *shrug shoulders!
