Every (official) game, app, and edition of Minecraft, and why you should get it.

This is a thread.
This is the layout that will be used:

-----------
Name of the game

Price in US currency
Supported platforms

Explanation as to why the game should be bought
-----------

Let's start:
Minecraft: Java Edition (formerly just referred to as Minecraft)

US$26.95
Windows, macOS, Linux

Commonly considered the superior version of the game. It has more chat interaction and gets features much faster than Bedrock. And, it's the original version of Minecraft, so ...
... you get to see how it evolved and became what it is today.
Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (also simply known as Minecraft)

Ranges from US$6.99 to US$29.99
Windows 10, Android, iOS/iPadOS, Fire OS, Fire TV, Windows 10 Mobile, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Gear VR
(formerly Samsung Galaxy Store, Windows 8.1 Mobile, Apple TV)
...
...
Interact with other platforms! As you can tell. There are plenty of people playing on these platforms, and you might just prefer it over Java. It does have a few features that Java doesn't, although vice versa can be said for the other way around :)
Minecraft: Console Edition
Ranges from $19.99 to $29.99
Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo Switch

See the old days! Lots of people still play on these versions since the Better Together (Bedrock) versions that released ...
... received much backlash upon release. Additionally, there are two minigames that you can (I think?) pay for! They're a lot of fun and I recommend you try them out.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition
iOS, Android, Fire OS, Windows 10 Mobile, Samsung Galaxy Store, Windows 8.1 Mobile
Minecraft: Gear VR Edition
Unknown
Gear VR (obviously)

You honestly can't get this version any more. If you could, though, it'd probably be the cheapest version of Minecraft you could get (assuming you actually own a Gear VR already)
Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition
$29.99
New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, New Nintendo 2DS XL

Although there are occassional dips in framerate, it's a very welcoming edition of Minecraft! Although, it's not the best portable version (get the Bedrock for that), it's a ...
... good version if you're looking to get started on the journey of Minecraft.
Minecraft: Education Edition
$5/user/year
Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, Android, Chrome OS

Not only is it the only version of the game to officially support Chromebooks (as of writing, it's currently in Beta!), but it's basically education and learning but with ...
... Minecraft. Although, many Java Edition players have reported that it just feels weird to play, however this may be because of it's large similarities to Bedrock Edition. Either way, I recommend it, it's pretty good for an educational game.
Minecraft Dungeons
$19.99
Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch

An incredibly fun spinoff dungeon crawler. If you like those sorts of games (especially Diablo III) then this is the game for you! Really all I can say about this. Go look at a review or something.
Minecraft Earth
Free
iOS/iPadOS, Android

A pretty interesting, well-known, and extremely accessible version of Minecraft! Also, you might want to put on a mask, because you're gonna be walking around the block (pun intended). Like, a lot. It's Pokemon GO but Minecraft-themed ...
... and then some. I can can't recommend this enough.
Minecraft Reality
Free
iOS

Now we're getting into the special stuff! I don't think you can get this anymore on the App Store, although if you could it would require a VERY old device (iOS 5 to iOS 10). It is really cool for it's time, though, and people shared tons of ...
... creations. Some of them are really cool and would definitely only work in Minecraft Reality. Also, if you have an old jailbroken device, and have this app, please dump the IPA file. Plenty of people would enjoy seeing it's contents :)
Minecraft 我的世界 (also called "Minecraft China", "Minecraft My World", etc.)
Free
Windows, iOS/iPadOS, Android

There is actually a really nice community over there! I don't see much chatter so it's definitely not as toxic, either. And the few people who do talk in English ...
... are incredibly kind. To make it even better, you can play both Java and Bedrock! If you can somehow get your hands on this (it's actually pretty easy!), and don't care about the data concerns (unlike me), I recommend it. You might need a translator, though.
Minecraft: Pi Edition
Free
Linux (ARM only), Raspbian

A quite small version of Minecraft, coming down to simply 4MB! There's not much to do in this game, but if you're a novice coder and are trying to learn, you could start here. There are many API's for many different ...
... languages.
(and now, an intermission as Twitter forces me to tweet these tweets so I can finish the thread!)
Minecraft 4K
Free
Web, Windows, macOS, Linux

Can it run Java? It can run this. This is the smallest version of Minecraft-- you might not even be able to call it Minecraft in the first place. If you're gonna get it, then you probably should only do so if no other version ...
... runs. Either way, it is definitely one of the weirdest versions of Minecraft to date.
Minecraft: Story Mode (also referred to as "Minecraft: Story Mode Season 1")
Free on Steam, unknown elsewhere
Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Fire OS, Apple TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Netflix

Hang on... Netflix? Yep! Season 1 ...
... of Story Mode is one of the most fun story games I've seen. Especially because of it's interactiveness. On Netflix, only the main 5 episodes are available, however on other platforms, you can pay for the other 8 episodes. That is, you could've, if the servers weren't ...
... shutdown when the original Telltale Games went out of buisness. If you have the game though, I really hope you liked it! Because I sure did. If you don't have it though, sadly the only way to get the game is by pirating, as the Minecraft: Story Mode rights were not given ...
... to the new developers. Please support them by buying their other games.
Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two
Unknown
Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Fire OS, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch

Sadly, I never got to play this. Although, knowing Telltale, it definitely would've been pretty good. Again, the only way to get this game is ...
... pirating, unfortunately. As stated previously, please support Telltale by buying their other games.
Minecraft PC Gamer Demo
Free
Windows

This is Minecraft Beta 1.3! The few differences that exist are a PC Gamer branded cow, and the PC Gamer logo on the menu screen. Besides that, it's not much different from the normal demo version of Minecraft, which allows you to play for ...
... a maximum of 100 minutes, or 5 in-game days. If you're a fanatic for special Minecraft versions, like me, I absolutely recommend it!
Minecraft Classic
Free
Web

Quite an old version of Minecraft! The one you see today is not the original, it's actually a recreation! It is a nice way to quickly build simple structures though. If you played back in these days, there's nostalgia for you out there. Recommended.
MinecraftEdu
Ranges from $14/user to $18/user
Windows, macOS, Linux

The original educational version of Minecraft! As support for this has stopped, yet again, the only way that you can get this is by pirating it, as Mojang acquired TeacherGaming ...
... for Minecraft: Education Edition. Please consider supporting the developers by buying other games, such as KerbalEdu (kerbaledu.com).
Minecraft Explorer Pro
$2.99
iOS

Ah, yes! This app was a companion app and was used for information for tons of things, from mobs, to crafting recipes and smelting, you name it, it's probably there. Except don't actually take that up. Jokes aside, if you play without the ...
... recipe book, this is a good app!
Minecraft Seeds Pro
$1.99
iOS/iPadOS

Unfortunately, this app got discontinued, although it was basically Amino, but for Minecraft and not so bad. If it was still around, I'd recommend it, it looks to have had some good seeds.
That's all I know right now! I'll update this thread if I find anything else.
Alright, time for the hashtag and user mention spam 😁
