This day did not come without efforts and sacrifices. Countless people fought the battle in and outside of various courts. Mothers and wives lost their

support as many brave souls sacrificed their lives for this day, they made an ultimate sacrifice so that you can get a chance to bow your head in the temple and light a Diya.
The age-old temple at Shri Ram’s birthplace was destroyed by Babur in 1528 and replaced with a

mosque as an act of aggression and oppression by an invader. Babur was particularly cruel against Hindus.
The first effort to regain the possession was done in 1853 by Nirmohi Akhada, the then British administration divided the land into two parts, one for Hindus and

one for Muslims.
In 1883 there was another effort to build the temple but the local administration denied it. Then the matter was placed in the court for the first time.
In 1949, the premises was locked by the government recognising it as a disputed site.

In 1986 the government opened the site for Hindus to worship.
In October and November 1990, the police under Mulayam Singh’s government opened fire on Karsevaks, killing thousands. It’s a black part of history where thousands of lives were lost. Bread earners, sons,

fathers lost their lives. We should never forget this ultimate sacrifice. Let us light a Diya in remembrance of those brave souls.
In 1992, the disputed structure was demolished by karsevaks.
In 2003, ASI submitted a report stating there is a 10th-century Hindu temple

under the mosque. The same findings were submitted in 1970 and 1992 as well.
In 2010, Allahabad High Court gave a decision for dividing the land into three parts and giving it for Temple, mosque and to Nirmohi Akhada.
Finally, on November 9, 2019, a five judge bench

of the Supreme Court ruled that the government should create a trust to build Ram Temple and 5 acres of land to be given for a mosque at a separate location.
On February 5, 2020, a trust was created by the government of India for the Temple.

Finally the day every Hindu has been waiting for, the day of Bhumi Poojan. On August 5, 2020, The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi layed the foundation brick at 12:44:08 in the noon.
