"Skin is Skin", so whatever your complexion, it’s important to use products that will help your skin and not damage it as skin bleaching will.
2. Skin bleaching has proven to be a growing trend with many people embracing it for different reasons. Medics, however, warn that the act comes with several risks that are extremely damaging to one’s health.
3. Currently, the active ingredients in skin-lightening products are hydroquinone, mercury, and corticosteroids. Most products on the market include one or all of these ingredients at concentrations that exceed the recommended value.
4. These ingredients have been linked to complications such as hypertension, diabetes, insomnia, and memory loss. These ingredients can also damage your kidneys. Another complication of long term use of the same products is body odor.
5. Exposure to mercury can have serious health consequences. The danger isn’t just to people who use mercury-containing products but also to their families. Your family might breathe mercury vapors released from these products.
6. Your children might touch washcloths or towels that are contaminated with mercury. If your children snuggle up against you, the mercury can be absorbed through their skin and over time accumulate to harm their developing brains.
7. Some people – including pregnant women, nursing babies, and young children – are especially vulnerable to mercury toxicity. Babies may be particularly sensitive to the damage mercury can cause to their developing brains and nervous systems.
8. Newborns who nurse are vulnerable because mercury is passed into breast milk.
Your husband/partner can also develop serious health problems if your skin-lightening product contains mercury. He could develop mercury poisoning, which can cause mood changes and tremors.
9. Mercury poisoning can also lead to problems with eyesight & hearing.
Let us save steroid and hydroquinone side-effects for another day.

If you haven’t heard of it or never tried it, you’re missing out 😉. #skincare
Why?
Because Niacinamide is a skin care ingredient worthy of your attention and your skin will love you for using it.
Niacinamide is also very versatile and good for almost any skin care concern and skin type.
Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacinamide helps visibly minimize enlarged pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and diminish dullness.

Who wants to look good without breaking the bank or setting a foot in the spa? I'm sure I heard you say "me".
One of the DIY treatments to get glowing skin is FACIAL STEAMING. It's so inexpensive, and you can do it at home with just a bowl, hot water and a towel.
Why should you steam your face?
1. Cleansing: Steam opens up your pores and helps loosen any buildup of dirt and other impurities that clog the pores or contribute to acne.
2. Steaming boosts facial blood flow to nourish your skin and deliver oxygen. This produces a natural,
healthy glow.
3. Steaming also helps your skin better absorb skincare products. The result is that your product is more effective and produces the results you want.
4. It’s affordable and accessible compared to other skin treatments.
The reason is that shea butter has a lot of oils in it, so rubbing it and going out in the sun would definitely make you darker (tan) especially if you live in the tropics or in summer.
Some suggestions if you want to try shea butter:
1. Rub little shea butter so that your skin can still breathe especially on the face.
2. Clean your skin of make-up, so as to have a clean skin before using shea butter.
3. Use shea butter at night and wash it off in the morning before going out.
Did this make sense? Let me know.
