Btw, I learned the phrase during my language training courses sponsored by the Dutch government. The rationale: learn the language the way people actually speak it. That phrase is from a song by @thomasacda & @pauldemunnik, together / sammen : Acda en De Munnik.

@thomasacda @pauldemunnik For my American followers, @thomasacda & @pauldemunnik are "Acda en De Munnik" kind of like howDaryl Hall and John Oates are just "Hall & Oates".

So the song where I learned "tot het volgende keer?" It's about a dude who met one of his former schoolmate in Amsterdam's Red Light District years later when she was a sex worker.

Again, this was in my Dutch government-sponsored language training courses. The guy singing / the lyric: "I can't quite remember your name ... What are you doing here, behind the window?" #redlightdistrict #Amsterdam 🇳🇱

I miss Holland sooooo fucking much. That song signs off: "Nou, zeg het beste ermee! Dag Esmee" (Translation: [awkward] "Well, um, have a good day?! Goodbye, Esmee.") #redlightdistrict #Amsterdam 🇳🇱

OMG!!! I FOUND IT!!!! Apparently "Dag Esmee" is the name of the song I remember by @thomasacda & @pauldemunnik (together: Hall & Oates ... I mean: Acda en De Munnik).

Seriously, look up the English translation to that song. It's soooooo over the top (by American standards) re: lyrics a government would use to teach non-citizens their language — which is one of the MANY reasons why I love Holland. 🇳🇱
