My neighbor suffered cardiac arrest. He was a hard working and very active man. He worked 27/7 to repay the home loans and for kids college & school fee. Somehow he missed to take care of himself and died in his late 40s. Though his death was sudden, his family moved on within
a day's time. I saw his daughter laughing & smiling when her friends visited her. His wife was ok too. I was glad as they seem ok. But I kept on thinking how they were able to recover from the sudden loss so soon
1. Maybe he was never there for the family as he was busy earning for the family
2. May be he was always stressed & been rude with the family
3. May be he did not express his love towards the family or bothered too much about savings & expenses
4. May be he pretended to be busy

I've considered hyperbaric chamber therapy for chronic pain related to EDS. It is, apparently, a very effective treatment for a lot of things. Our brains and muscles NEED oxygen. Deep breathing works for this reason. Without enough oxygen, our brains panic and our muscles spasm.
I think it's awesome that @justinbieber is opting for oxygen & vitamins instead of other drugs to reverse damage done to his body through self destructive behaviors. Our bodies are built to heal themselves, if only we create the right conditions. #SelfHealing #SelfCare #SelfLove

I thought about watching Unbelievable on Netflix, but I honestly really don’t want to. And from the tweets I’ve seen and reviews I’ve read, it doesn’t look like I’m the target audience.
I already think about sexual assault more than the average person. I don’t need more “awareness” about how fucked up the system is. I’m fucking living it. I’ve been reading, talking, writing about it for most of my adult life.
This is my suspicion as well—and I know myself pretty well ;-)

Many #BIWOC & #BIPOC we're triggered by yesterday's report on #emotionaltax by @CatalystInc and my story in @TorontoStar - many reached out saying they felt heard and seen and some expressed disappointment that enough isn't being done esp when it comes to #workplacewellness
@CatalystInc @TorontoStar Here are a few tools from my tool kit. I know that when I reached out to my Organizations Employee Assistance Line - there's wasn't anyone equipped to deal with #emotionaltax.

Many didn't have the relevant training or awareness of what it means to "be on guard"
@CatalystInc @TorontoStar Or in some cases how layered or how our identity is tightly woven into the armour we wear on a daily basis.

Yes you do need to bring your whole self to work in order to thrive but many #POC can't and from personal experience #BIWOC are policed more than others.

Self care isn't massages & manipedis. It's rest. It's saying no to others and saying yes to yourself. It's eating right for your lifestyle even when you don't want to. It's setting boundaries. It's asking for help. It's seeing the dentist. It's saving for therapy. It's self love.
"I cannot come and kill myself" is a serious sermon. Capitalist society and greedy individuals will have you overspent, over reaching, exhausted, in debt, stressed and irritated.
And then the media portray us young people as lazy because we don't want to die helping Mr x get richer or Ms Y getting a promotion based on our hard graft.

Here, I'll start!
1- Hydrate: No, don't drink more coffee. ☕ Drink water. Or tea. Or Gatorade!

2- Go Outside: Because "cave dweller" isn't a good look for me. Walk and do @ZombiesRunGame.

3- Eat Better: Eat breakfast. Before noon. I WILL adult, gorramnit!

After seeing how damaged my skin was from travel due to dehydration, switching climates + diets, jetlag etc, I learned to do skincare the Korean way. ~4 month later, my skin has improved a lot and feels LUSH. 🍑

No filter or makeup:
Here's what I'm using these days:

1. MUJI Sensitive Cleansing Oil
2. MUJI Mild Face Soap
3. MUJI Organic Moisturizing Toning Water
4. Salt Spring Soapworks Shea Butter Rose Lotion (day)
5. Cosrx Honey Mask (night)
6. Cosrx pimple batch (breakout SOS)
A couple of notes/learnings:

- I have combination skin. Double-cleansing is so effective here. It may sound like a hassle, but I give myself a face massage while the oil dissolves gunk in the T-zone. It doesn't dry out my cheeks. Then a super mild foam cleanser finishes the job.
