I picked a few things that I would like to share.
Very important if you go to the gym.
#BetterTogether
Pick one goal:
- Lose weight.
- Build muscles.
- Remain lean and fit.
After talking to some members in the gym, I concluded that they don't know why they are in the gym.
They don't have goals to pursue.
#BetterTogether
Most gym members don't have a plan. They just wake up and go to the gym. - Because 'going to the gym is good'
Without a goal, you won't have a plan, you will be moving carelessly from one workout to the next copying other members.
#BetterTogether
It was painful seeing members in the gym toddling across the hall holding cans of soda, flavoured water and energy drinks.
No matter how many million workouts you do, if your diet is shit, you will achieve nothing.
#BetterTogether
You don't need food before or after the workouts.
Stick to your diet plan.
Your body has enough energy reserves to last you 72 hours after the gym session.
#BetterTogether
Legacy gym has a lot of machines.
I noticed that none of the members attempted to lift free weights - except the bench press.
Free weights are the best:
- Deadlifts
- Bent over rows
- Shoulder press
- Squats
#BetterTogether
Wrong techniques in the gym will give you injuries and slow your momentum.
For example, the 'behind the neck shoulder press' has been discouraged because it leads to shoulder injury yet many members do it.
Reach out to your instructors.

Keep your phones away.
It is ridiculous scrolling social media instead of focusing on your sets.
Focus on the sets. Your time is limited.
No earphones too. Gym music is enough to motivate your momentum.

Muscle stimulation is controlled by the brain.
Contraction of muscles is the work of neurological stimulation.
Most guys don't allow their mind to connect with their muscles. They just focus on lifting instead of commanding the muscles to contract.
Please rack up your weights back after using them.
Few do this.
Imagine if you came to the gym and found plates and bars strewn everywhere in the hall...
Be the sober member and rack up your weights.
#BetterTogether
Some members go to the gym to show off.
- They lift heavy weights beyond their ability.
- They overdo their sessions.
Listen, results wont come today. This should be your lifestyle.
- Lift progressively & methodically.
- Dont stay in the gym beyond 1 hour.
