We're awash with painting tutorials, here's one more! For fans of the forest and the moss. It's a thread. 😉#howto#landscapepainting#tutorials
When laying down the shadows, don't worry if the paint runs together a little. That can help make your painting look coherent. Just make sure your light layers are dry before adding the shadow.
Finally, here's a #timelapse of the whole thing. I hope this was helpful. Materials: Watercolor sketch book, Pencil, Cotman pocket watercolors, Holbein Gouache paints and various small flat brushes and round brushes. Happy to answer any questions or comments. 😊
Dandelions in dappled light. A long overdue oil painting on canvas board. ... #Dandelion#oilpainting
I had a failed landscape canvas sitting in the corner and finally got around to recycling it into a new painting. The textures and colors show through and gives the dandelions depth and light.
You can see a little of the process here.
Moral of story, always keep old canvases around. They make good underpaintings.
Colors of gold and midnight! Gouache paintings for the Autumn Equinox. Available as prints in the shop. m-y-designs.com/shop/ Thanks everyone for your support! 🥰
Colors of gold and midnight painting details. For this series, I used an under layer of acrylic paint and painted the details in gouache.
Glass buoy from a thrift shop, old bottle of sauce, scrap wood, soaked in water, and a scribbled grand plan on paper.
I soldered the frame out of copper sheet and wire. Always have a bucket of water handy. I also used some scrap wood and dowels left over from another project for the outer shell and the 'engines' Propellers made from copper sheet.
My previous still life attempts have been inconsistent. 😋 But we have to keep trying.
I thought the deadline was a little bit tight, but went out and did my still life painting, because between now and the 20th, today is the only sunny day in the forecast. Lool, it's OCTOBER 20th, not September. 😆
