The more applications you submit, the higher your chances of landing one or many scholarships.

Here is the mantra I live by; "if you meet the minimum qualifications for a scholarship, give it a shot- your best shot!" I've had people ask me, this person graduated with a minimum 2:1, he had 3.5/5 CGPA, how did he win a scholarship? He applied, and his story resonated with..

the scholarship/admission panel. You do not know which scholarship panel your story will resonate with and that is the reason why you have to keep submitting those applications.
Over the course of 4 years, I made 30 applications and I failed in 26 of them (story for another day).

I kid you not, applying for scholarships is a herculean task & if you're looking for an easy way out, then scholarships is probably not the way out for you. It will wear you out if you're not mentally prepared to go for the long haul. So be prepared to submit plenty applications.

Also, the more applications you send in, the better your writing would get. I have been reviewing a friend's essays for the past 2 years now and even though he is yet to land a position, his essays have improved a great deal and I am confident he will land one very soon.

Also, the writing skill will last you a lifetime. It will help you write even better when you eventually take up a scholarship.
The dark days will come when you will feel like giving up, and that is why you need to find a greater motivation which will keep you going.

Your motivation has to be something greater than the rejections and mental stress you will encounter along the way. For me, it was poverty, so you have to find yours. Many of us sharing opportunities on this platform will also be here to help you because we've been there before .

So don't despair, there is hope on the horizon.

PS: That is not to say there are not persons who get in at their first or second attempt, I actually know a few, but they are far and few between.

Oh! Edit, I actually failed in 24 of them and got 6 out of it.
