Shall I start with some reasons not to?
Lets begin with you mate from the Jockey Club and wife of your MP mate.
Dido Harding: PPE from Oxford, did a bit of retail, went to talktalk and managed to oversee the theft of >150,000 customer details and the co getting a £400,000 fine.

So, she gets put in charge of NHS procurement (her experience at B&Q must have been the clincher, eh!) but she REFUSED to sit as a crossbencher.
Skip forward 3 years and knowing her from the Jockey club you decided to put her in charge of "Track, Test, Trace".

Why would that be?

Lets have a poke around at the history of the App shall we?

In March, NHSX commissioned a contact tracing app. This was going to be (to paraphrase the clown that gave you a job) "World beating".
You rejected the Google and Apple models, presumably on the advice of the private company, Faculty, who provided research and modelling.

That would be Faculty, the same company Dom Cummings used for the 2016 Vote Leave campaign. The same company that has links to Cambridge Analytica.

All private companies Matt, all private companies.

Matthew Gould, CEO of NHSX, told parliament that the data collected by the app

would be accessible to 'unspecified organisations'

That's our NHS data given to unspecified organisations -

Would that be private AI firms Matt?

The CEO of NHSX is saying “I can’t give you a definitive list of exactly who would have access to the data”

Why?

Anyway, I digress, so after much delay and despite being told by many experience App developers that it would never work, you allowed dildo to carry on 'spaffing money up the wall' at it.
It gets a release in the IOW in May, not in time to be included in the national program.

By the end of June the App was dropped completely, so a private company just cost us £12 million with no tangible outcome.

So, we have no App for the track part.

So you decide to let the private sector loose on the test and trace.....

Best we set aside some money for this lucrative contract.... £10 billion should cover it.
Where to begin with this clusterfuck!
A list of the big players should give the more informed an idea of how badly this is going to go:
Serco - Fined £7m for failing in 'compass contracts'

G4S - Utter failure in detention centres and prisons. Couldn't even manage security for the 2012 Olympics (the Army stepped up)
Mitie - Massive history of low pay, crap conditions. Lots of messed up NHS contracts, failure at immigration centres.

Deloitte - Panned for their part in the collapse of Carillion:
"Deloitte were responsible for advising Carillion’s board on risk management and financial controls, failings in the business that proved terminal. "

So here we have some big names, with an abysmal history..

of giving public services anything approaching value for money lining up for their slice of the £10 billion pie Matt just secured for Dildo to serve up.

In May you said that Serco has hired 21,000 tracers, Johnson said that by June there would be 25,000. All through private co's

What you did dismiss was the use of >5000 Env health workers already employed by local authorities.
Remember local authorities have had local outbreak plans in operation for the best part of a decade.
They have plans, Matt, along with trained staff with local knowledge.

So there has been a widely reported under utilisation of many of these tracers employed by Serco et al.
The tracing that has been done has repeatedly failed to trace to a level that is acceptable of of any use to controlling outbreaks.
Serco have admitted that they are not going

to be fully functional until September.
This is a private company Matt, making profits and not delivering.

The level of tracing was so bad, that many local authorities fell back onto their local plan for tracing, using the already employed public health workers.

Serco's service is so bad and under utilised that they are cutting the number of tracers from 18,000 to 12,000.
Gotta protect those profits, they are after all, a private company with shareholders and ministers to look after.

Probably because its what they have been trained to do.

Just before I mention testing, can I just point out that Rupert Soames (OBE!) is Chief Exec of Serco, his brother Nicholas was a Tory MP.

Well, apart from the obvious choice of an accountancy firm (Deloitte) to run the 'lighthouse' testing centres. We have the touchy subject of Randox testing kits.
Shall we start with this private company that 'won' a £133 million pound contract to supply home testing kits

They must have received some excellent advice from their paid advisor Owen Patterson MP

Never mind, I'm sure that Randox managed to get a clause in there so they don't have to pay back any money.

Shall we dwell on the 'revolutionary' 90 minute covid testing machines.
Another private company contract worth £161 million.
DnaNudge is a repurposed machine that was originally designed to give you healthier lifestyle shopping choices.
They have provided NO clinical evidence...

that this machine is fit for covid testing.

But hey, lets not get hung up on trivia, it is a private company after all.

I think I have provided enough evidence that private companies should not be involved with the NHS, I have not even got into the blatant #ToryCorruption involving PPE.
