Last month we polled our most recently-joined members on their school vs. #homeed intentions post-lockdown. School lost the popular vote by a wide margin with only 8% definitely returning thier children.

Our membership has increased by nearly 600 since March. We have admission criteria and rules that prohibit the use of #homeschooling misterminology, which means we decline requests from those who believe we support the replicatation of schooling at home.

We have just sent a briefing note to MSPs that journos and headline writers should perhaps also read before misrepresenting #homeeducation as schooling at home.

And it's time for members of the teaching profession to abide by thier own GTCS Standards (Section 2.1.1) and stop misleading parents about the law. They work for us! This is for them:

So that's some compulsory #homework set for lazy journos, teachers and all the other #vestedinterests who pedde #homeduphobic claptrap year in year out. #homeschooling is not synonymous with #homeeducation just as education/learning does not equate to schooling/teaching.

Once they have done that, they should watch and listen to the wisdom of @SirKenRobinson who sadly died the other day, especially this inspirational presentation:
