North Carolina begins to send out mail ballots on September 4. (10 days before any other state) It looks likely to be between 400,000 and 500,000 sent out on day one of mail-out. /3 #ncpol

Something I learned recently — if you are an NC registered voter and have moved within the SAME county, your report of residential address in box 3 of absentee application is also processed as an address change update (same as if you reported it at in-person early voting) /5
For example my son and daughter-in-law moved from Carrboro to Chapel Hill Aug 1. Submitted absentee requests with new address. Within a week Orange Co Bd of Elections processed it as a transfer from Lions Club precinct to Dogwood Acres precinct. Ballots should be sent out Sept 4
