Hallelujah! Local NGOs allowed to help flood-hit families! After decimating the development sector & civil society organizations through a witch hunt, reregistration, EAD quagmire, suddenly when faced with the calamity they realize their importance! dawn.com/news/1704798
These organizations lost their donor connections, donors turned away from Pakistan, rather than jump through the bureaucratic hoops, & now the organizations with the human resource, capacity, experience of working in such disasters have no resources. Are now working in isolation
In 2010, there was district govt. which held DCC where all actors were present; local politicians, military focal persons, line dept. reps. INGOs, NGOs, CSOs, even LSOs & shared locations & interventions to avoid duplication. @UNOCHA was the overarching umbrella to coordinate

It allowed me to point out some important work at policy level to mainstream #Gender issues, like #ccGap document by #IUCN Pakistan & @MoCC with @theGCF readiness support to work in tandem with National #ClimateChangePolicy by highlighting interventions in 6 priority sectors
Progress was narrated by #WDD rep. on #genderfriendly new laws, & amend. in existing laws is heartening. Look forward to their wide implementation. Also about measures about safety of women & safe houses like DarulAman @SyedaShehlaRaza @UNFPAPakistan @bayramgul_unfpa @SCSWPK
