The fact that Michael Schmidt is repeating McCabe's lies shows that McCabe was the source of earlier leaks from the FBI that some have tried to blame on "Comey's FBI" rather than on Comey's coup plotting Deputy Director.

McCabe is again accusing Rosenstein of protecting Trump!

So Comey's memos lead Rosenstein to appoint Mueller to not investigate the Russia case the way Andrew McCabe wanted it investigated!
The DOJ also concealed the narrowing of the scope from McCabe's FBI so he would not know that Mueller wasn't investigating Trump!

All the people who tried to say that Rosenstein appointed Mueller to get Trump were wrong. In fact Rosenstein closed McCabe's investigation into Trump within DAYS of McCabe opening it!

And concealed that fact from McCabe's crew!

SO Rosensetein determined that there was no lawful predicate to investigate the President, determined McCabe had a conflict of interest, & recused McCabe by appointing Mueller!
Then never told McCabe about it so McCabe did not continue the investigation without Mueller!!!

So McCabe is now screaming to his friends at NYT that for 2 years everyone thought Mueller was investigating Trump and Mueller wasn't investigating Trump's ties to Russia!

NEVER!

So while providing Mueller the generic scope letter on 5/17/17, Rosenstein privately briefed Mueller on his actual scope. That he was not to investigate President Trump or his business dealings with Russia, but to only investigate those who committed crimes with the 2016 election

Those who argued that Mueller's appointment was illegal because it was a counterintelligence case not a criminal one will also be disappointed. Mueller was only authorized to investigate criminal actions not national security risks with no fishing expeditions!

It appears Strzok & the others put on the Russia investigation by McCabe tried to push for a CI investigation, but that ended when Strzok was removed from the team by Mueller!

This is McCabe's BS to justify his opening the case against Trump, the case that Director Comey would not allow him to open. But they had to take advantage of the time while Andy was Acting Director of the FBI!

More McCabe spin, trying to call it misleading to say Spygate was an attempt to spy upon the President!
Claiming he started the investigation so no one could stop it if he got fired like he deserved!

This is a lie by McCabe, who testified on 5/11/17 to SSCI that no special counsel was needed to take the investigation from the FBI. Of course McCabe was holding his breath, he had committed criminal actions including lying to INSD investigators.

McCabe tried to steer Mueller's investigation not knowing that Rosenstein had secretly given him a scope to conceal that scope from McCabe.

So to fool McCabe that Mueller was not on a witch hunt for President Trump, Rosenstein & Mueller had to fool everyone else too!

Looks like I had this figured out more than 2 years ago?

How about all the #ButNothingsHappening threaders who told you Rosenstein was a rat because he appointed Mueller to investigate Trump?

Note that the day Rosenstein wrote the Scope Memo & put it into writing was the day Director Wray was sworn in at FBI. So the real scope could not be put in writing until McCabe was no longer the Acting Director who would see the scope.

So Wray is sworn in on the same day as the Mueller Scope memo is put into writing!

Then the next day what do they announce? A surprise remodeling of the White House to get rid of 'bugs'!
