alright then, well. season 3 review: excellent stuff. themes have been polished to a mirror shine and the show's moving in an interesting direction. there are so many shows about fame but i don't know of many that have so clearly honed in on how and why fame destroys people

3.11 is obviously a big one, with its emphasis on the seemingly unbreakable cycle of abuse that alcoholics can fall into. i imagine sarah lynn's death will mark a huge turning point for the show going forward. lot harder to play off these drug-fueled benders as funny now.

also, it was nice to see todd acquire some pathos! while it was good for the show to give us a framework for reading his part of the series (wacky misadventures = your twenties), it's still a relief to see him start to have an actual narrative. character development!

i think watching three seasons of this show in such a short time has put a stand mixer in my brain at full speed. either i'm gonna take a break or i'm gonna keep going anyway, because that's what bojack would do and i'm nothing if not an impressionable youth

everyone's suggesting i should take a break, which is advice i'm definitely gonna take
