Thousands of Syrians were disappeared by #ISIS. Why haven’t local authorities @SDCPress & the US-led anti-ISIS @coalition prioritized the search for the missing & giving answers to their families?

Join the campaign we launch today w/ @SJAC_info: truthafterisis.org/en/
Twenty-eight mass graves have been discovered since the territorial defeat of #ISIS in northeast Syria three years ago, report local First Responders who continue to exhume new graves in the search for thousands of missing people. truthafterisis.org/en/
New maps published today based on @SJAC_info data show that three of the mass graves are located on former prison sites, increasing fears that many of the missing might have been killed in detention truthafterisis.org/en/
Trials of ISIS fighters, both in Syria & around the globe, must collect vital evidence on missing people and authorities in the northeast must commit to the search for the missing. Read the full press release: truthafterisis.org/en/contact/

1/ Around 800,000 people in #Hasakah and its surrounding villages in northeast Syria have been deprived of drinking water after Turkey-backed Syrian opposition factions cut off supply from the main water pump since August 1st.
2/ Enwer Suleiman, a resident of Hasakah, said:
“We have been suffering from water shortages for years. It’s not the first time Turkey cut our water and won’t be the last. The water used to be cut off for fewer days, but now it’s been 25 days straight."
3/ "People can’t afford to buy water from other sources because it’s expensive and the economy is deteriorating. We spend hours standing in long queues under the burning sun waiting for our turn to get a few liters of water from wells, which are unsafe to use."

“The corona situation here is very bad” says a doctor in Damascus who remains anonymous for their safety. As hospitals overflow with COVID patients, the official number claimed by the Syrian regime & WHO is only 1432. Greatly at odds with the reported situation on the ground. 1/4 Image
“As a doctor if I speak up, I will get bullied by Assad’s supporters and I will get intimidated by security, but we can’t remain silent anymore, people are dying here. Cases of COVID-19 infections and deaths are increasing drastically in regime-held areas..." 2/4
"... but there is complete negligence and mismanagement from the Syrian authorities. People with symptoms are unable to seek medical care or get tested because hospitals are overwhelmed and unaffordable to many, especially with the deteriorating economy.” 3/4

Today head of @SyriaCivilDef @RaedAlSaleh3 told a cross party group of UK MPs that “For 9 years the international community has made statements and called for ceasefires. The situation has only gotten worse. It is time to try something new”.
.@RaedAlSaleh3: “The crisis in #Idlib cannot be described in numbers or words. It is much bigger than anything we have seen before. How can I explain 1 million people forced from their homes, 70% of them children?”
.@RaedAlSaleh3: “The @UN has failed in Syria in every way. Russia is killing us with warplanes but the UN needs Russian approval to send aid”
