It is possible the Wensleydale station is the photograph at the bottom of the Roll.
During WW2 an Army base was established a few hundred metres east of Gherang station, and materials and troops were brought in and out by train. The line had some hasty repairs before the regular running of trains. Line had fallen in disuse from 1930s.

It is surprising the branch line was not more successful considering the mining activities in the general area.

The line somehow survived. In 1919 there was a proposal to extend from Wensleydale to Benwerrin. For access for Lorne.
