In the cool shade of evening I saw them -
The Hollow Men.
They sloughed their skin and spineless
danced in the shadows that no one saw.
1/8
They were already dead though they live.
They were starving despite feasting.
Victims of their own design, they played
the very hand they had dealt themselves.
2/8
And who can awaken the Hollow Men?
Sound the alarm! Fire! Fire!
Can they hear us with a head full of straw
and a heart full of law?
3/8
Our voices grew hoarse, our eyes dry.
The cool shade of evening stifled us.
We rap upon the door of their soul and find - "Darkness there and nothing more."
4/8
Who can awaken these Hollow Men?
Can they unstuff their ears and
Scrape the scabs from their eyes?
We bleed while their hearts pump air.
5/8
One by one, we leave them
to be answered by their own echoes.
Trapped upon a candle's tip
they burn until no wick is left to burn.
6/8
Mimicking great men, they gained the world.
So many followers, yet alone they die.
"This is the way *their* world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper."

#DaylightSavingsTime: Where we time travel as a society by exactly one hour twice a year by falling into the past before springing back to where we were/are.
The only side effects are mass jetlag and minor hysteria.
Note: the states of AR & HI do not share in this witchcraft.
Note: #HawaiiFB can't currently go into over-overtime because they do not participate as a state in #DaylightSavingTime.
