"Too many companies have this misguided thought that hiring disabled people is fundamentally charitable. You're doing it out of the kindness of your heart. That's absolute fucking bollocks." I talk to @Chad_Sowash@joelcheesman HR's Most Dangerous Podcast podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"Every company should be falling over themselves to hire disabled people, because that is how you give yourselves a competitive business advantage." I talk to @chad_sowash@joelcheesman in Part 2 of my HR's Most Dangerous Podcast interview: podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…#Diversity
"Disabled people are some of the most ingenious, brilliant and creative people you'll ever hire, because, as @elizejackson puts it, "We have to hack life every single day."I talk to @chad_sowash@joelcheesman Part 2 HR's Most Dangerous Podcast interview: podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"When you embrace accessibility, not just as a key corporate value, but a fundamental corporate platform for how you build, grow and operate your business, you make that business better for everybody." @chad_sowash@joelcheesman HR's Most Dangerous Podcast podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"I say to companies, to every area of popular culture, stop talking diversity. Stop creating inspirational, compelling campaigns/movies/TV series about diversity. Stop doing PR stunts about diversity. JUST. FUCKING. BE. DIVERSE." @chad_sowash@joelcheesmanpodcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"When you have diverse talent writing scripts, creating the ads, casting the movies/series/ads, producing the movies/series/ads, you don't have to worry about diversity, because every bit of your creative output will be diverse." @chad_sowash@joelcheesmanpodcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"I'm semantically precise. Note I say "create and approve", because it doesn't matter if you're the one Black writer in the writers' room writing brilliant scenes, dialogue, if the white head writer throws it out, goes, "No no no, make these changes.' podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"Ending racism should be the only thing any of us talk about in any environment right now. Because Black people are fed up to death with having to have this conversation. They're exhausted, fed up with having to educate people, deal with white guilt...." podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"When you have people who are on the front lines every day of white male policies, whether it's the appalling lack of universal childcare...when you have the people on the sharp end of those policies actually making them, you get a whole different world." podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"People who take jobs because they want to help others, somehow there's been the presumption they should earn very little, while white men who don't give a shit about anybody and are sharks on Wall Street deserve to make colossally huge amounts of money." podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"Post pandemic I want to see teachers make an absolute goddamn fucking shit-ton of money, and I want to see those white men on Wall Street and Silicon Valley who made a shit-ton of money out of not giving a shit about anybody, see a reversal of fortune." podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"Every one of us had that one teacher, who saw the potential in us when we couldn't see it in ourselves..I want to see capitalism reinvent itself to reward the people who care about other people, vs rewarding the people who don't give a shit about anybody" podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
.@chad_sowash@joelcheesman: "How do we get there?" Me: "If you're asking me to solve government's problems for them, that's what you pay me for. I'm happy to be hired by the government to solve this problem for them." HR's Most Dangerous Podcast podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
.@chad_sowash@joelcheesman: "I'm the father of a 10 year-old daughter and I want her to be a badass like you. What advice can you give me?" Me: "1. Bring her up to not give a damn what anybody thinks. 2. Do everything you can to end sexual harassment." podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"Do everything you can to end sexual harassment. Stop other men sexually harassing. Stop them being inappropriate. Step in as a bystander. I'm telling you this because that is the one thing that can make your daughter's life go completely off the rails." podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"The biggest business issue facing every industry is sexual harassment because it manages women out of every industry. Sexual harassment derails women's careers; destroys women's ambitions; crushes women's dreams. Every industry hemorrhages female talent" podcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…
"Sexual harassment has kept out of leadership, influence and power, the female leaders who would make gender equality, diversity and inclusion happen. We don't solve anything, until we solve sexual harassment." I talk to @chad_sowash@joelcheesmanpodcasts.apple.com/jo/podcast/cin…#timesup

OK folks, hold onto your hats - here we go, with my annual live-tweeting of my reading of @condenast @voguemagazine #SeptemberIssue. What do we think we'll find this year? I'm guessing, what we find every year: #carefullycalibrateddiversity, lack of age/body diversity, appalling waste of celebrities, every ad looking pretty much the same as every other ad. Let's see, shall we? 🙂
Let's start with the cover. Obviously, when @condenast @voguemagazine #SeptemberIssue decided on @blakelively as the cover, they had no idea she would be as much a part of The Discourse as she currently is. Separate to that, I continue to want to see cover women who aren't models or actresses, but powerful real world personalities
Occupying the prime @condenast @voguemagazine #SeptemberIssue inside cover/first DPS slots: @RalphLauren. As I say each year about RL, if you like this kind of thing, this is the kind of thing you like. The clothes are unremarkable, and the use of black and white makes them even more so.
Starting my annual live-tweeting of my reading of @condenast@voguemagazine#SeptemberIssue. Predictions: even MORE #CarefullyCalibratedDiversity; ageist fetishization of youth; huge amount of adspend wasted looking like everyone else; nothing's changing in fashion's old world
.@LancomeUSA forked out the $$$ to be the @condenast@voguemagazine inside cover foldout, running the same old Julia Roberts La Vie Est Belle ad they've run for years. What a waste of a huge-impact triple-spread that @LancomeFR could've done something really creative with
'I immediately checked out the site and I literally got goosebumps. @makelovenotporn seemed totally aligned with my ideals and beliefs around adult content in our society: that it should reflect consensual, mutually-enjoyable experiences' @tntannie_russmakelovenotporn.medium.com/coming-to-mlnp…
'@makelovenotporn is going to keep getting bigger and bigger. The investors who won’t invest in this venture are making a huge mistake. If I had the funds, I would jump on an opportunity like this.' From your mouth to investors' ears, @tntannie_russ 😍 makelovenotporn.medium.com/coming-to-mlnp…
Starting my annual ritual of live-tweeting my reading of the @CondeNast@voguemagazine#SeptemberIssue Predictions: even MORE Carefully Calibrated Diversity; ageist fetishization of youth; huge amount of adspend wasted looking like everyone else; the theme #newbeginnings won't be
Separate to the fact the cover is extraordinarily visually non-compelling, why models YET AGAIN, @condenast@voguemagazine? I want to see real world women on your cover, with real world bodies, real world age, real world achievements. Especially Black women #SeptemberIssue
Together with reading @zoescaman's post zoescaman.substack.com/p/mad-men-furi… watch the first 15 minutes of my 2017 @3PercentConf keynote, to understand why everything Zoe cites is the single biggest business issue facing the ad industry (and every other industry) today
In my @3PercentConf 2017 keynote I quoted @rtraister and continued, "Nor can we see the great ads those women would have created, the @cannes_lions they would have won, the agencies they would have started, the ad industry they would have transformed."
Ladies, re-upping this @RachelKrantz@bustle interview with me because you may find it useful. Also, remember that in addition to business and #diversityandinclusion consulting and speaking, I also do personal coaching 🙂 cindy@ifwerantheworld.com bustle.com/articles/12937…
'Consider that when you ask for a raise, you're not just helping yourself — you are also acting on behalf of other women by helping to close the pay gap'..."As women, we don’t get taken seriously until we get taken seriously financially." I talk to @bustlebustle.com/articles/12937…
'Gallop tells @bustle, "Very simply put, if you do not ask for a raise, and if you do not ask for the most money you can possibly make in your job, you will not be valued." @RachelKrantzbustle.com/articles/12937…
