Trump’s 2016 election digital campaign involved a team from the now defunct British company Cambridge Analytica, working with the Republican National Committee. Two senior members of the Cambridge Analytica team are currently working on the Trump 2020 campaign.
Facebook is facing calls to ban political advertising following an international backlash over the use of its platform to spread misinformation, disinformation, and suppression during election campaigns.

The Trump campaign spent £44 million on Facebook ads alone during 2016.
Today, a Facebook spokesperson told Channel 4 News: “Since 2016, elections have changed and so has Facebook - what happened with Cambridge Analytica couldn’t happen today."

The Trump campaign, RNC and White House did not provide any comment to Channel 4 News prior to broadcast.
They wouldn’t comment to Channel 4 News, but Trump’s re-election campaign have now responded to our investigation, albeit to the Washington Post calling it ... ‘fake news’ washingtonpost.com/technology/202…

TONIGHT at 7 on 4: Channel 4 News has learnt the Science Museum has signed a gagging clause, in its agreement with Shell International to sponsor its climate change exhibition, agreeing not to say anything that could damage the company’s reputation.
We obtained sponsorship agreement which states S Museum & trustees agreed not to “make any statement or issue any publicity or otherwise be involved in any conduct or matter that may reasonably be foreseen as discrediting or damaging the goodwill or reputation of the Sponsor.”

Broadcast for the first time tonight, the footage shows PC Oliver Banfield who was off duty at the time, violently assaulting Emma Homer, in what the court described as “misogynistic” verbal abuse. He was spared jail & ordered to pay £500 in compensation & wear an electronic tag
Tonight West Midlands Police told Channel 4 News PC Banfield has been suspended while allegations into gross misconduct take place. It was revealed that he has continued to work for them since the terrifying attack last year, albeit was ‘removed from public-facing police duties'

TONIGHT: shocking Channel 4 News report reveals how hundreds of overseas students have become destitute in the UK during lockdown, and turned to food banks in desperation.

One food bank in E London caters exclusively for 1700 international students a week, who queue for hours.
Report by @Anja_Popp, produced by @ShaheenSattar & filmed by @WilwithoneL - reveals international student visas don't give them access to government help and lockdown means there's no part time work available for them to support themselves.
Ben arrived from India to study in UK in March. Shared room with 1 student in Bedfordshire but when Covid hit - moved to house in E London with 14 students. Cramped accommodation means only way they can afford the rent - is by sharing beds - with as many as three other students.

EXCL: Channel 4 News has seen a leaked document which calls on care home providers to accept patients who are COVID-positive from hospitals.

The contract, from Trafford Council in Greater Manchester, outlines how eligible care homes will receive COVID-positive patients within just 2 hours of the patient being identified by the hospital as ready for discharge.
Professor Adam Gordon told Channel 4 News that discharging patients from hospital to care homes was “accelerated and escalated” in the early months of the pandemic and that it could happen again this winter in line with the latest UK Government guidance.
