Last night actually happened. It hurt. It was abusive. It was an emotional assault. It was what a cornered scared wild animal does. It was the death throes of antiquated thinking. Joe got bum rushed, he knew it was coming, but it still stings the senses to see it play out.
Imagine for a second that the wicked witch was real. Imagine the terror you might feel when you see her literally melt in front of you. It’s not a pleasant thing. There is yelling. There is violent hand waving, there is destruction. All on display last night.
Last night we saw the witch get wet. trump didn’t do that for him. His own people are saying it was a bit much. He didn’t do it for the votes. He didn’t even do it for money. He did it for the distraction. He is a weapon of mass distraction. And he needs a big one.
The way Trump wins The White House again is by suppressing the vote of moderates, so his base can carry the day. His debate/election strategy is about making these ordinary folk feel politics is just such a mess that they can't be bothered to vote. #DeterringDemocracy
His strategy is not about persuading people to vote for him - it is about persuading people who might vote for the other guy, but aren't all that bothered, to just stay home instead. Turn the debates into a shambolic mud-slinging match, and that's what you achieve.
This approach will be backed up by targeted social media adverts to certain demographics to specifically lower their enthusiasm and deter their vote. In 2016, Trump did this with the black community and turnout fell by 25% in mainly black districts. #DeterringDemocracy

Netflix's 'The Social Dilemma' made clear the frightening power that social media and its tech overseers have on our lives. Now we see that same power wielded to suppress Black turnout. It’s old-fashioned voter suppression with shiny new tools.
The Trump team disproportionately marked Black Americans for “Deterrence” and fed them ads designed to keep them home from the polls. Some 3.5 millions Black Americans were marked as “Deterrence.” Remember that only tens of thousands of votes handed Trump the Electoral College.

Millions of Americans in key battleground states were separated into eight categories, so they could be targeted with tailored ads online.
